A long time ago (last year), the Super Vepr had caught my eye as a rifle to add to my collection but I could never find one whenever I had the funds. Does anyone know anything or have first hand experience with one?

The few tid-bits I've found and read online from owners are the great accuracy the gun has with its fluted, chromed barrel and heavy receiver. Robinson Armament for whatever reason doesn't even want to talk about the Veprs, they even deny selling them, which is ridiculous but oh well.

You would have to find one at a gunshow (unlikely) or online like gunbroker or gunsamerica. Molot Arsenal in Russia made them, as the produced military AKs, Izhmash Arsenal has the rights to make AK sporters, so they sued Molot and production stopped a few years back. They were good as the had heavy barrels and RPK trunnions with "mumps" but had a slant back receiver that is hard to find conversion parts for. Saiga 20" 7.62x30 or Saiga .308 22" next bext bet.

I would love to get my hands on a VEPR, but as the above post says they are harder to find, I settled for a 20" saiga in 308. At one time the VEPR's were priced but not getting, close money to the Valmet's. Now a Valmet would be a nice rifle, I remember in the early eighties, a guy was pulling his Valmet out of pawn, I was amazed what that thing was worth in the day that the market was flooded with Chineese rifles.

I may pick one up (a Super Vepr if I find one) for Christmas, my own special Black Friday gift to myself to have under the tree.

I'm curious to test it against my Polytech.
