This is amazing because of how insane it really is...I don't know what to say.

A 37-year-old father irate over hearing his 15-year-old son had sexual contact with a 3-year-old girl made the teen strip at gunpoint, marched him to a vacant lot and shot him to death despite pleas from the boy and his mother, a relative said.

Certainly a tragedy,,,,according to ABC news, the little girl the boy admitted to having innapropriate sexual contact with was his 3 year old half sister....which adds even more tragedy to the story.

After reading that I think I can see that giant asteroid rounding Jupiter on it's way to obliterate the earth.

A very good example of how two wrongs don't make a right. Did he think that the trauma to the little girl would be lessened if he killed the boy? More likely, she'll blame herself for his death. And although the boy was certainly old enough to know better, he didn't have adult maturity and probably deserved a shot at rehabilitation.

Regardless of what he had done, could you really kill your own son while he begged for his life? I'm pretty sure I couldn't. There's something wrong about this guy. It makes me wonder what kind of relationship they had before this.

Whats interesting is people replying in the article link and other forums who "claim" to work with pedophiles and victims all seem to agree that had the boy been sent to rehab (I think 15 is still juvi in MI) he'd be out and continue his habit.
I do believe people CAN change but its up to them to be willing to change and sadly most pedophiles do not change. Take a look at John Couey, the man who raped and murdered 9-yr old Jessica Lunsford.

I agree that most pedophiles and similar sexual criminals are unlikely to change, but at what point does a horny 15 year old who should know better become a pedophile? Was his crime one of attraction or availability? Was this really going to become a habit, or was it a single, extremely stupid act during what is at best an emotionally unstable time of life (perhaps compounded by living with a father who is actually capable of murderous rage).
About the only good thing to be said about this whole horrible mess is that there will be no year long media circus surrounding the investigation, trial, and eventual book deal. Though the actual events are more disgusting than the coverage of them, they are at least brief, which the coverage is not.

The sad truth is that we tend to view this act as being particularly heartless since it was committed by a father on his own son. The reality is that the heartless value of life that this guy showed in this incident is no less than that demonstrated by the jackass at Ft. Hood. No value of human life whatsoever.... Eradicating someone because he believes they are worthless. It will be interesting to see whether his defense will be a crime of passion or if he will lean on some some religious belief. The judge entering a not guilty plea on this guys behalf is perhaps the biggest mistake made so far in this case. Yet another judge that is apparently a legend in their own mind and here to single handedly save the criminal justice system by handing down life the way they see it. That one I don't get....
A tragedy all around.
1. the girl was molested
2. the girl lost her brother and really her father too.
3. the wife lost a son and husband
4. the father will probably be in prison for life. or until put to death
5. the son lost his life.
sad all around.
as a father of a 13 yr old son, and two daughters, it makes me sick to even think about.

I thought the story about the woman who arrested for raping her own son her own son was sick.
No one wasn't damaged in this one.
