I.D. help: Small .22 rimfire looking bolt action rifle. A .22 will not fit. The bore seems just slightly too small. If I were a brave soul, a .22 rimfire could be forced into battery; but alas no gooYones. On top of the reciever is a Big Letter "G" circumscribing "eco", so it is a Geco. On the left side of the receiver: " GUSTAV GENSCOW & Co. AK7.GES" 1st line and below it: "ABTL.WAFFENFABRIK BERLIN-TREPTON. " On the bore left of the rear sight: "KAL 6mm FLOBERT GEZOGEN 5.4mm." On top of the bore: "ORIGINAL-GECO-Karabiner Mod 1925." What is the ammunition story? Why did they use both 6mm and 5.4mm? Is a 6mm Flobert actually a 5.4mm rimfire? Can firing ammo be purchased? Any story w/this plinker? Thanks to all.

I think it's a indoor rifle for shooting inside a German beer hall, I think it is called Schuetzen The guy I work for on the farm brought one back from Germany after the war. You can get the ammo from the old west scrounger

By the way he said it was very popular for Germans to drink and shoot indoors.. He said these ranges were sort of like an American bowling alley with guns instead of bowling balls.

Googling "Flobert" turns up several interesting articles about this guy and firearms.

PICS!!!! You can't do that to us.:icon_biggrin:
"We" had one of those US gallery guns once. Fired it a few times, the bolt plugged my brother-in-law in the cheek so "we" sold it to a collector.

Interesting article on the CB Cap. I think they are still available although I haven't seen any in 30-35 years.
