Both work just fine but each has their own set of issues. Personally I seem to have had more issues with my cast receiver CETME but none of the issues are directly tied to the receiver itself.

Roland:

You may want to consider buying a JLD/PTR receiver instead. The last I heard they were selling for around $220 from Vector Arms in Utah. I originally purchased a SS receiver from century and then had an opportunity to buy one from Vector. The JLD one is definitely an upgrade in all respects.

You have to call Vector directly. They don't list the receivers on the website, but they usually have them in stock and ship to your FFL fast.

Like Geilt said, both have their issues. The stamped is closer to original, but I prefer the cast. The cast also tend to bring a little more $$$ when being sold.

If you ever want to easily mount a scope, go with the cast or PTR receiver. Scopes wont stay put easily on a stamped century.

The magwell seem to be closer to "in spec" on the cast receiver.

downfalls of the cast is that its heavier, and not as "original". That said, I'd NEVER give up my cast for a stamped unless it was a PTR or MARS.

Supposedly, the cast receiver is inherently more accurate due t othe fact that its much stiffer than stamped steel... I dont know if my receiver has any real effect on accuracy, but my rifle is very accurate. If youre going for close to original, and plan on using irons, go wiht the stamped... if you want more of a sporting/target rifle, go with the cast.
