That's a pretty nice pistol as it is right now. What more are you planning to do to it?

It has a lot of finish work to be done.
Blend beavertail
Checker front strap
blend magwell
deburr and bevel all the edges
Then I will either bead blast or buff the entire thing with a wire wheel. You can see near the front sight where I hit it with a wire wheel to deburr the dovetail cut. May do the entire thing like that.

Gotcha. For some reason I had pictured more radical stuff. You gonna open up the ejection port?

Maybe. Depends how it ejects when I test it.

Very nice...What do you mean by blending? is that just another word for makeing the corners flow?
I shoud really post pics of my 1911 slide I got parked but I need to find a subtible rear sight for it still. The other slide turned out to be high grade stainless and would not take the park.
Keep up the great work

Blending means making the edges of the beavertail match the frame, and smoothing all the edges and mold lines.
I have about 6 hours into it, mainly fitting slide to frame and working on the trigger and sear.
Range test went ok, but pointed out the need for a larger ejection port, so when I got back home I went ahead and opened it up. Also need a shorter front sight, as it shot low.
