Well apex is out. I ordered one a week ago and just got a call saying they were out of stock. So now im not so sure of where im going to get a new full assembly :kookaid:
edit: finished the phone call and they say they wont be getting the new bolt and carriers back in-stock in the foreseeable future.

Bigmike has a carrier for sale in the FS in case you haven't seen it. If you can't find a bolt head I've a decent one laying about, but it is by no means new. It is serviceable though.

Apex has new bolts and new carriers, but not the complete set. When I spoke to them they said when those are gone, thats it. I guess their supply of NOS has finally run dry. That is until someone finds a warehouse full of new surplus parts long forgotten. Sad thing is the Spanish govt probably scrapped most of that stuff for scrap steel. It was melted dow and made into the car you drove 20 yrs ago.

The only need i can see for a new bolt carrier ! Is if the rifle in question has a bolt carrier that is to short.(the tube end ground down to much) If the length is ok really all you need is a new locking arm spring. And if the arm is that worn you can get a good used replacement arm.Other than that add a new bolt and your all set.Thats all i did with mine.I never could see the big need for new bolt carriers

well i went ahead and ordered a new complete head from RTG and a few other odds and ends. hopefully that along with the locking lever and spring will solve the issue.

Doing the math:
1) complete NEW bolt/carrier. Includes the following: Carrier, bolt catch, spring, firing pin, lock, spring, bolt head, rollers, keeper, extractor, spring and a couple roll pins. Cost $75
2) Bolt$30, locking lever, spring &pin $8, extractor & spring $17, rollers/pin & retainer $14, locking piece, firing pin & spring $20, not including the carrier $89 not including the carrier.
Bottom line $14 less and a free carrier. Most of the parts wear out and are good spares, even if you don't need them now. I have had to replace 2 carriers as they were out of spec and way too sloppy. Its proper to replace a worn out bolt with new rollers, pin keeper, extractor, bolt catch and locking piece all at the same time.

I can see your point ! But for my needs i already had other parts and only needed a new bolt and locking arm spring.I think my point is its not the end of the world if complete bolt carriers are no longer available. Most can get by just fine with there original carrier. And it looks like apex still has the stripped carriers for $35.I am not sure if that includes the locking arm and spring? I know some of the guys bought the complete bolt carriers.Than some of them sold the stripped new carrier.I use to see some listed on gun broker here and there. So its what ever works for your needs ! And by all means if you have a few cetme rifles your going to shoot the day lights out of.It may be a good idea to have a new carrier on hand.

The new parts for these are getting harder to come by. About a year ago you could buy a new complete bolt for $20 on Gunbroker. Now there are very few parts at all. The rebuild kits are real rough and most of the used parts are well used. I guess for the age of these and limited distribution, its not that bad. The FAL and G3 were much more widespread in distribution and numbers, but parts kits for those aren't the best anymore either. This stuff is either drying up or just too tough to import. Its probably more cost effective to scrap, than to play the legal import game.

Well, I don't know if that's better or worse of being into it and not taking advantage of the deals when you should have. I have done that too many times.

One thing you can bet on and that's that your rifle will maintain value, if not increase in it. Cetme's are a fine piece once you get them right and understand the necessary drill to maintain them.....Sometimes you may have to set it down for a cooling off period before resuming the task....Let it all soak in and then look at it piecemeal to figure it out.

I have enough spares and a couple kits to get me thru the next few years. Now I have to start a couple G3 builds, as soon as I can find good cheap kits.

holy cow, i installed the new bolt head assembly, it has more bolt gap than the old one did. and the old one had plus 2 rollers.
also, those g3 firing pin springs are ALOT stronger than the cetme ones cant wait to try and shoot it.
