Although they are quite rare and collectible , I will say this. I think its one of the poorest mending of wood and steel I have ever seen . I think there ugly.

quick draw, you're such a playa hata.
I actually like how those things look, but I don't feel like spending what I could essentially use to buy real estate with.

The Rolls Royce of .308 rifles... Not aesthetically pleasing, mind you, but the REAL beauty is in the performance. Okay... Maybe Rolls Royce is a poor choice, as they are freaking beautiful... The Avanti! Yes! Some folks like em, some folks think they're just butt-ugly, but there's no doubt they are great automobiles! Yes.

Are they meant for anything other than bench rest shooting?

$75K HOLYSHIT! I wish I would have got one 10 years ago when they were around $5k at Carl Walther's. If I were going to get one It would be the 300Mag version

they make a wonderful sniper rifle. I've never fired one, but from what I have heard you really do get what you pay for with these. Walther is an outstanding firearms company, anyway. My little pistol has magic powers, I'm almost certain.

Yup, they were designed to be a sniper rifle for police and I think military agencies as well. I wish someone would replicate the design cause it is a beautiful rifle.

The only place I'll ever afford to shoot one is in "Call of Duty" and in there, the Barrett .50 cal is king....
That Walther is one beautifully Fugly weapon!

My thoughts exactly. Some of it looks like an afterthought... "DAMN that barrel gets hot. Throw a 2x4 under it for a handguard!"
But then, the design, the performance... makes it beautiful.
I think of it like an old Porche. If you saw the car, but didn't know anything about Porches, you'd think they were ugly (the new ones don't fit this logic), but then when you hear it run, and see it perform....... all bets are off.
Its FUGTIFUL!
