I am fed up with my cable internet provider. For 3 months have been having very bad connectivity problems and it is always "my equipment" that's the problem. I have switched out the modem, router and even upgraded the coax coming from the box to my modem.
I have taken off from work 3 times and met the cable tech at the house and he never finds any problem, but it never fails that on the weekend my service will "flap" according to the tech support line.
Tonight I said enough, and switched to AT&T DSL service. It isn't quite as fast as my cable modem is supposed to be, but at least from what people I work with tell me it is reliable. Plus it is half the price of what I'm paying the cable provider.
I should have the new service by Jan 27th and I am ready for it!

The cable provider is SuddenLink, probably as poor a cable company as there is in the country. Now I have no reason to keep their service and can switch to Satellite TV!

i tried the others and went back to at&t. yes it is slow, but when i have problems i call them and most of the time they can fix it on line. i have had them come out a couple times over the years. they show up fix it and leave.
the price is right for what i use it for. visiting gun sites on the internet and playing internet games.

good luck

Well, I got my DSL from ATT and hooked it up this evening. Very easy setup and very steady speed. I am only getting 5.00 MB Per second. I am paying for 6.0, they said they will reduce my bill so I only pay for the 3.0 MB per second speed, since I can't get 6 at my house!
$19.95 a month, instead of $24.95, which itself was a big savings over the cable company. I was paying them 48.00 a month supposedly for 10 MB per second. I never saw speeds faster than 6 and most of the time it was less than 3 or 4.
I am happy, more money to spend on ammo!
