I have a SAIGA 308, and was wondering where to get mags. What about modifying the gun to take dragonov mags, or others. Does anyone know about that?

Why do you want to modify low cap drag mags?

Fuzzy Bunny Movie Guns (http://www.fbmginc.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=360&category_id=47&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1) has 20 rounders made in America, just waiting on you to order

Some people have modified M14 mags to work. I would not remove anything from the trunnion as it will weaken the gun.

The FBMG mags work well.

Are there any hi cap .410 mags out there? All I've found are the 4 rounders.

There's a guy over on http://forum.saiga-12.com that makes high caps out of low caps, weasel. might give that forum a look-see.

weasel master, you have to basicaly make a franken mag, by cutting two bodies to make one, or make one like a two rounder and the other is bigger. There are those who plastic stock and solvents to make a filler too, dont look good and you have to paint them.

You can fit the bottom of a hk mag to the top of a saiga mag, use the longer spring and follower and kinda of make a franken mag for a 308 too, you cut the top of the body off of the hk and bend small lips into the sheetmetal on the side to fit the floor plate of the saiga, then slide in and use either hot glue or tape or figgure out how to keep the hk mag in. They say they work though. If you have a saiga you can save ten bucks by useing your mag and follower instead of getting a all up mag, but even though I have two mags with mine, I am going to get one of these some day too.

I picked up a chinese drag mag, in 308 with the thought of playing with it, but gave it up. There might be some galil mags out there, but the high caps are hard to find, but they are steel so if you wanted to weld a body together you could do that. If though you are not good with tools, have a limited shop or such, I would go the prefab mag method as they work.

I thought I remember someone converting M-14 mags to work, but I can't find it now. Pay $350 for a gun and have $450 in mags for it??? Why aren't the russians making a crap load of high caps, while they are still legal?

The problem is the rifle was never a military gun, they are imported as low cap sporting guns. Thus its in the importers best interest not to have high cap mags imported, pushing the atf around. One fear on the shotguns is that they will ban them like the usas-12 and street sweepers as DD's now that large cap mags are available, as these were imported as sporting shotguns too.

There is a high cap Saiga 12 drum mag coming out called the WraithMaker. The alphabet boys have decreed (at this time) that using one of these drums in your Saiga will require a $200 tax stamp for the DD that the combo will consitute.

If you stick to your Saiga with stick mags, you (at this time) should be fine.

OTOH (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&defl=en&q=define:OTOH&sa=X&oi=glossary_definition&ct=title), If anyone wanted to make a 'fun drum' for the Saiga .410, that is perfectly legal (due to caliber).
