If Beretta makes a pistol in 45 auto along the line of the 92F?

That might be a neat pistol to have if they would make one, would solve several issues. Same type of action, larger bullet, ease of operation.

They make the 92 series in 40s&w, why not 45 auto?

The PX4 will soon be available in 45 auto. Nothing in the 92 series higher than 40 AFAIK. I have a Beretta Cougar 45 auto and love it but they discontinued those a while back.

Nope, haven't seen the beast yet, but it sounds like it could be a winner if they made one.

Stoeger's making the Cougar, but only in 9 & 40.

I don't think the locking blocks would take the recoil from a .45 without alot of reworking of the design, so pretty much an entirely new pistol. I've seen them give out from just a couple thousand rounds of 9mm, so I just can't imagine them holding up very well.

PX-4 is already available in 45 to my knowledge... I think they are even making the compact in 45 as well.

Not exactly what you're talking about with it being like the 92, but supposed to be a decent pistol.

I had one of the FIRST PX-4's to come out and it was a total POS... the workmanship was sloppy like they had rushed production, and the barrel had so much play that Id get a 6" flyer about every 3-4 rounds at 25 yards. The night sights were so bright that Id see spots after looking down the barrel. On a better note though, every one Ive handled after that first batch has been top notch, and its getting GREAT revews all over. If you gotta have a beretta, its probably the way to go.

Me personally... Id get a Baby Eagle in 45 for a DA/SA gun, or a Ruger, and spend the saved money on ammo. I wish Walther would make some 45 guns too.
