OK, this is largely beyond anything I'll ever do, but I post it here because it's interesting to me, and it's something I've wondered about.

I've only read the first page, so far, but I'm guessing quite a few of you will find it informative. This is how they make those spiffy, neat holes in ported barrels, for instance.

FYI, that is also the method used for cutting flutes in Hk / CETME chambers...

This is an excellent manual as a detailed overview. I used it with my students as the class text. Very well written by people who do this for a living. The price is also unbeatable. FREE!

I have copy of "The EDM How-To BooK" by Ben Fleming. Detailed instructions on building and operating your EDM machine. He also makes and sells a PC board for the electronics components. Going to order one if available. Although I don't know that I will ever get around to building an EDM.

I got the book from Lindsay Publications (www.lindsaybks.com) an outstanding source of books on all kinds of old technology, as well as simplified do-it-yourself methods for home workshop applications of newer technology. Want to build your own lathe or milling machine? Lindsay has the info.
