I finally got MOST of my parts for my Remington 870 upgrade. This shotgun has been my faithful hunting shotgun for 12 years. Its killed doves, quail, pheasant, ducks and geese. It's had a hard life, especially hunting in brackish saltwater. After getting a 11-87, it became a safe queen. Now, its my HD and hopefully my new shotty for 3 Gun. Still missing the buttstock endplate and locknut that were left out of the box, but Mesa says they are on the way.

Upgrades are:

Remington 870 18.5" barrel
Scattergun Tech 2 round mag extension
Mesa Tactical LEO adapter with buttstock
Hogue Pistol grip
Command Arms Forend
Inova-mil Inforce light and mount

Before:

18847

18848

After:

18849

18850

18851

18852

18853

Looks good. Whats the weight on it now? Knew a few guys who modified their Mossbergs and Rem 870's and looked great but they removed a few things here and there as it got noticeably heavier.

Heavier then before...the mag extension being the biggest difference. The balance is different now, but its not uncomfortable to carry.

nice!!, i like that fore-end.

id also vote for black instead of od. it looks more "home defense" that way. (i cant use the "t" word it makes me throw up in my mouth a little)

I would leave it like it is or duracoat it phosphate like gray if If I felt that it needed to be painted. On the otherhand, it's your gun so do what you like. That is a great fore end.

be careful how it rests against the trigger, or the atf may classify it as a "machine gun" :lolgreen:

Tell me about the light! Cost? Brightness? Durability?

That light and mount look BADASS! Well the whole thing looks badass actually.

I'd like to do one just like it, but with a speedfeed stock rather than the collapsible. I think mainly because I seem to only be comfortable with it extended all or most of the way... I'm a big guy.

Nice set up.

The light I got at Military Clothing Sales on post. Light and mount were about $165. Its military grade carbon fiber body with a constant on, pressure on, strobe and CQB flash. Burn time is 2 to 40 hours constant on, depending on brightness. Its LED so easier on battery life. Mine only burns white, but they make one that burns 5 color. Blue, red, green, white and IR. They are expensive on their website, just the white light is $160. I got the light and mount for about that.

I'll let you know if things pick up around here and I can afford a new light. I don't have anything to mount it on currently (sold all my tacticool stuff when the prices were high), but I can always use a good light.

How many lumens?

I had a Streamlight TL3 that I loved, but it was a tad big for every day use. Basically it wasn't comfortable in my pocket. But it was 211 Lumens with the Xenon bulb in, and could reach out 200 yards or more with visible light through a scope. I absolutely LOVED the brightness, and the weapons mount was great, though a little bulky. I like the quick release of that one on yours, and it looks a lot slimmer and cleaner.

It was 90 Lumens with the LED in... which is still pretty darn bright.

225 on High, 80 on Med and 11.5 on Low in constant or pressure. Other 2 modes are 225
