I finally got around to grinding the rivets on three Romy kits i have and think i might have made a ooop's. While grinding down the rivets to get the front part of the cut reciever off i got distracted when a box fell off my bench and this happened.

You can still barely see what i think is the date(same as whats on the other two), The serial number wasn't touched but is this going to be an issue later?

Only for you, the only number that counts is the one on the receiver, the rest just prove a matching set. The sn on the trunion or other parts is irrelivant other than collectablity, unless the one on your receiver matches, they are moot for leagality.

Thats what i figured but i wanted to ask. I'm thankful it didn't touch the serial numbers due to them all matching. The numbers hit by the grinder were 1983, Is that the date by chance?

Yep. Not that big of a deal.
Next time try Plannings method.Put it in a vice and cut off the rivets with a cold chisel, faster, less mess, no oops!

Yes no more oops! LOL probably should of done that! The funny thing was that it was the last rivet of the last kit, Now its time to pull the barrels.
