Not knowing much, I'll chime in first; chances are, AFAIK, if it's got a NODAKSPUD receiver...that's the spine of the beast, and seems to be sought after...I'll chime out now, and let those that know better comment. But, yeah, I'd guess you got a "good" AK. If it shoots well, then, depending on how you look at it, you can't get hurt at that price, for sure.
NODAKSPUD's seem to be "the" receiver that's generally known to be "in-spec", somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
$500 isn't much to pay for a reliable weapon, and you seem to certainly have the basis for one that won't take much, if anything, to fix, given the receiver. Sorry I don't know more, "please stand by" for a stream of info from the rest of the group.

The AK should be good...certainly better than a wasr 10.
Nodak recv'rs are great builders, I've built on several and all where good to go.

I've built on one NDS receiver and all I can state is that it was a wonderful experience....The fit and finish were the best I've come across.
I know nothing about maadi's except for what I've read, but if it were assembled properly you should have something very good there. DPH is not known for building lemons.
