When i received my SKS ,it was plastered in cosmoline, other then the last couple inches of the barrel and gernade launcher, the last inch or so of the barrel was rusted so i figured just cut it off and recrown it, as for it being in tapco furniture, i shot a friends sks and liked the fit and feel, me being 6'2, 280-290 ,i still have the wood stock and after a cleaning its still seeping cosmoline on hot days,oh the 10/22 was bought new in its tapco stock and the ak ,i am refinishing a surplus romy wood set for it

If I had to modify an SKS I think I might try a bullpup model. ^^

Just leave the Russians stock, the others don't matter.

The only other one worth leaving stock is the Albanians. Remember only about 5,700-6,000 exist in the world. Total production was around the neighborhood of 17,000 rifles but 11,000 were destroyed by the Serbians.

The people's SKS made in the People's State SKS factory with the People's steel and the people's wood (and Red Chinese help)

Long Live the People's Albanian SKS! The East is Red!

Well would like to keep the romanians stock as I want one, and would love to find the nonexistantium east german ones. Even rarer would be a north korean or stamped receivered chinese though.

I put one of the green Tapco stocks on my Chinese SKS and really like it. I also got some of the Tapco 20rnd mags and they work great. Nothing wrong about making a good rifle better.

i am happy with the tapco stock and mags. years ago i had a nonrinco paratrooper sks and had the cheap steel mags for it that fed about half of the time, so i put the fixed mag back in it, but the yugo feeds from the tapco 20 rounders and shoots great
