If they were up to no good then I'm glad they got busted and hope they spend a long time in jail.

However, I feel that the current admin could use this as a way to put religous people, and anyone else, who feel the gov't is becomming an overeaching, out of control beast in the wacko colum and discredit anyone who may feel the same.

You see how they(liberal, leftys) are reacting to some people who use the term "reload" or any type of firearm referance when they are speaking on political terms.

Also I take pride in the fact that I am from North Carolina and have never lived in a trailer. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking it, I'm just happy with the fact that I never lived in one considering the huricanes that come our way.

With that being said those guys had 2 of them pulled up together so it doubled the size of there house. What kind of nutjob-methlab-redneck-head quarters did these people have? I guess you have to be resourceful if you are going to try and take over the world. At least they were not lazy. :nonono:

+1 and a big applause to the men and women at the FBI for stopping the lunatics.

Remember that it took only one incident to enact George H. Bush's ban...if these lunatics actually got one of their ridiculous plans done we would have seen the Dems pass a ban against the will of the people.

Oh, so they want to meet the Antichrist on the Battlefield? If I'm not very much mistaken, the Bible states the antichrist cannot be defeated by force of arms... Maybe they didn't read that part... "Who is able to make war against him?" Which, at least to me, insinuates that NOONE is... I believe that to be their cover story... Anyone who has read the Bible knows that CHRIST will defeat the antichrist. NOT a group of militia wackos from podunk county USA...

That being said, this sounds like a cult group to me. That, or they are trying the whole "Jihad" motivational stunt, thinking it will work on the Christians as well as it does on the Muslims... Sorry, guys... Real Christians dont kill peace officers who are just trying to do their job... ESPECIALLY premeditated murder in order to kill more... That's not defence... If I walk up and kick Mike Tyson in the nads and then "defend" myself against the assured massacre to come, can I really paint myself as a victim?

Jeezus, after all the $ they spent on tacticool gear, you'd think a can or two of brown/green spray paint to camo up the car would be in order.

Camo clothes work best when you don't lob smoke bombs right in front of you to tell the world where you are. In fact, staying within the treeline might work better than trying to advance across a smoke-filled field. Smoke, like tracers, probably works both ways.

And, that's probably NOT the best musical background I've come across.

I tried to access the website that had the logo on the video, got an error message. Can't even get a website right...

Thanks for that link, K98k.

"Michael Lackomar, a spokesman for the Southeast Michigan Volunteer Militia, told the Associated Press that one of his team leaders got a frantic phone call Saturday evening from members of the Hutaree, who said their property in southwest Michigan was being raided by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

"They said they were under attack by the ATF and wanted a place to hide," Lackomar said. "My team leader said, 'No thanks.' "

Well done, team leader.

I have NO problem with sending these jerks to Gitmo. They're not one bit different from the other sh1theads there. Close it? No. This is a GREAT opportunity to show the world that it's NOT just about Muslims, we hate all asshats w/o regard to (fill in the blank).

im not trying to start a big political discussion but i saw that on the yahoo homepage, if you read the article it has this in the text

"With other news of vandalism and harassment from right-wing activists angry about the passage of health care reform, some commentators are already depicting the arrests as a further sign of how conservative activists are promoting violence in their ranks"

What is going on in the media?

Ever since the bill passed the media has been on an all out assault on anyone who disagrees or criticizes anything the president or democrats are doing- somehow EVERYTHING going on on this planet is now somehow related to the health care bill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and conservatives, republicans or tea party members are supposedly causing everything bad that has happened.

Im sure they will blame the suicide bombings in russia on them next

Optimus Prime

Some members of the media (ok, most) still think of the current admin. as untouchable goodness, so of course they're going to twist things to their view. It's been going on since November '08, and blaming whatever happens this week on the health care issue is just the natural flow of things right now, as it's the most prominent issue. Give it a couple months and it'll be blamed on immigration or cap and trade, or whatever the next big thing is.

I'm just glad to see most of the actual Michigan Militia trying to distance themselves from this bunch. The term "militia" has been so misused in recent times that most people don't even know what a real one is.

brewskzilla
03-29-2010, 07:29 PM
#1 to that. You say the word militia and people think you're a political extremist. Why? Because militias have not been used since the Civil War, as far as I know. Therefore, they're exact usage and, for that matter, usefulness have been, to a great extent, forgotten. People misuse the word mostly because of the jerkwad troublemakers that call themselves militias. Couple that with the western vigilante groups of the 1800s and early 1900s that called themselves militias (who did, at times, serve a good cause... just look at the San Fransisco Society of Vigilance... Kind of the ultimate neighborhood watch, as it was...) But, of course, NOW people expect the police to do everything, so anyone involved with anything resembling an organized, armed militia is looked at as a troublemaker, because WE haven't been properly trained... (never mind most of us were in the military and those that weren't have, for the most part, been MORE than properly trained.)

Added to all that is the current view from just about everyone that the National Guard has replaced the need for a militia. Facepalm every time I hear that.

On the tac-blunders side, I also noted that they were taking cover behind what...a car door? If the vehicle is stopped, I thot you want to GTF away from it.

I've played paintball with ppl with a better use of small unit tactics (course, most of those were ex-mil, come to think of it).

FBI agent short on details on militia inquiry :sleepy:
ASSOCIATED PRESS

DETROIT - An FBI agent who led the investigation of nine Michigan militia members charged with trying to launch war against the federal government couldn't recall many details of the two-year probe yesterday during questioning by defense lawyers.

Even the judge who must decide whether to release the nine until trial was puzzled.

"I share the frustrations of the defense team … that she doesn't know anything," U.S. District Judge Victoria Roberts said after agent Leslie Larsen confessed she hadn't reviewed her notes recently and couldn't remember specific details of the case.

Judge Roberts is hearing an appeal of another judge's order that has kept members of so-called Hutaree militia in jail since their arrest in late March.

The indictment says the nine planned to kill police officers as a steppingstone to a widespread uprising against the federal government.

Defense lawyers, however, say their clients are being punished for being outspoken.
Prosecutors fought to keep Ms. Larsen off the witness stand, saying the defendants had no legal right to question her .

But the judge said the agent's appearance was appropriate because the burden is on defense lawyers to show their clients won't be a threat to the public if released

The nine lawyers asked specific questions about each defendant. Ms. Larsen said she had not listened entirely to certain recordings made by an undercover agent who infiltrated the group

She said that because they were still being examined, she didn't know if weapons seized by investigators last month were illegal.

At other times, Ms. Larsen couldn't answer questions because she said she hadn't reviewed investigative reports.

Defense lawyer William Swor asked if the No. 1 defendant, Hutaree leader David Stone, had ever instructed anyone to make a bomb.

"I can't fully answer that question," the agent replied.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan Tukel defended Ms. Larsen, telling the judge it wasn't clear until Monday that she would testify.

Judge Roberts, however, said she told the government to be prepared last week.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Ronald Waterstreet played an audiotape of what he said were several militia members talking freely about killing police.

The participants talked over each other, often laughed and made goofy noises and disparaging remarks about law enforcement.

Prosecutors objected to questions about interpreting the secretly recorded conversations, but the judge said they were fair game.:

The judge will resume the court hearing today.

Prosecutors will have a chance to question people who are willing to be responsible for some of the nine if they are released from jail

This is the part that looks bad....

"I share the frustrations of the defense team … that she doesn't know anything," U.S. District Judge Victoria Roberts said after agent Leslie Larsen confessed she hadn't reviewed her notes recently and couldn't remember specific details of the case.

Here you have a Federal District Judge stating that she is "frustrated" and
sharing that frustration with the defendants attorneys. That doesn't surprise me much for a judge to be vocal about a critical view of law enforcement,,,, But the truly scary part is the lead investigator testifying that she has not recently reviewed the case. The problem with that is that somebody had to have "recently" reviewed the details of the case in order to put enough facts together in an affidavit to get a judge to sign the search and arrest warrants......WTF is what I would be saying if I was this agents supervisor or the Senior Agent in Charge or even the director of the FBI. Maybe this is just too close to my previous existance, but this really bothers me when LE goes up against people like this and then ends up with a black eye before the trial even begins, especially when it's the FBI......
