Hello everyone.
I found this forum while I was doing some research on a CETME that I just got. I have been a member of Survivors SKS boards for a long time but I just haven't been able to obtain much info on the CETME there.
After a couple days of lurking here and finding so much info I beleive that I may have found myself a new home
I live in the pacific northwest and I am also a member of Northwest firearms forums.
About the CETME. It is a Centry build (I know what some of you are saying :nonono::nonono::nonono:) but it was in pretty good shape for what I paid for it. Like I said, I haven't even pulled the trigger yet and I have alot to learn about it since I've never owned one before.
So is it wrong that I want to put H&K guts and collapsing stock on it? :icon_biggrin:
Thanks for having me here.

For the most part, we aren't against Century built CETMEs, that's what most of us have. As long as you do some research and are willing to take care of it, they can be great guns.
As for the stock, meh, I've got a tube from Tapco with a CAA M4 type stock riding on mine. It's your gun, do what you want with it. (of course mine could easily be switched back to wood in a couple minutes if I were to scrounge up the hardware... this negates the "bubba" aspect of things)
Most importantly though, welcome!

:welcome: aboard!
No shame in owning a Century CETME. I love mine, though it did take quite a bit of work to get it running right.

Welcome... You won't get any flack on brand names here. Just one of the reasons why this is the best weps forum's on the net.

Welcome. And i love my cetme also, just we are laid back enough here to poke fun at century because some of our members have ended up with the "built by century, finished by you" guns. and they have took it in stride, asked questions, got it fixed or fixed it themselves, and can joke about century alittle.

If it weren't for Century I would venture to say this site may have never been formed. That's the only good thing I can for Century. Unless you have a MARS Cetme, Century is the only other game.......other than homebuilt. They can be fixed either way. As for your internals, the trigger pack complete is the only thing you'll be swapping. The bolt carrier complete is not interchangeable as you might have already found. Welcome! Lots of good guys on here from all over and plenty in the Northwest.

Welcome, but define "guts". You can stick the furniture on, but the internals are different between a Cetme and a HK in some critical areas. You define guts and we can help ya out :)

In case you miss the new thread somehow (http://www.militaryfirearm.com/Forum/showthread.php?t=15830)...
I'm not well versed (more an AR guy), but I don't think most of that will work.

Welcome, from another member of Survivors SKS.
Sad to say, but I don't shoot my Yugo very much since I picked up a Cetme last year.....you probably won't either !
This is a great site, as well as Survivors.

First, again thank you for having me here.
Well I was looking for the best quality parts for replacement and was considering starting with a Rhinemetall carrier, H&K bolt head assembly and new trigger group/pack but I think I may have to reconsider what parts I intended on using.
I just posted in the main forum what I thought about doing but that goal may be "too" ambitious.

Names on the weapons mean nothing here, heck, half of the people on here build their own rifles with no names on them...
