I have a 59/66 new unfired Yugo SKS which I had planed on just keeping in the safe for the future.......... (Fast Forward) I can't FRIGGIN stand it, I have to shoot the rifle, it calls me in the night saying "shoot me,,,, shoot meeeeee" So if I put an aftermarket stock and high cap mag on it, am I as bad as cousin Bubba???? The reason I want the after market stuff is to preserve the original wood as that is the part that gets the most abuse. Well,,,, do I belong in the hall of shame just for thinking such blasphemy???

From what I understand, "bubbaing" a rifle entails doing something to it that is irreversible like making an 870 a sawed-off by pulling out the old hacksaw. :bash:
As long as you can reinstall the original furniture and mag I think your sks won't be considered 'bubbaed"

No but you're now in violation of 922 unless you have enough US made parts I believe.

Yup... as long as you can return it to original military setup you're not bubba... once you cut the bayonet off or something like that though..................

You will not be a full fledged bubba, just a bub so long as it is easily converted back to original. That is easy to live with, but 922 will gitcha in the azz doing it I believe. :nonono: Just shoot it and be careful with it, no bub, or 922 to worry about that way. :2pistol:

Yugos were imported as c&r thus if you change out and add features, 922r I beleive falls into place here, but there are varying opnions to that.
