Ok one of my dads friends is working on getting his CCW this summer and wanted me to go to the range with him to help him practice with his new para ordnance 1911 carry pistol..I'm not sure what the model is but its a double actoin only single stack.
He has had less than 1000 rounds through it and today I was having him do reload drills. Taking 5 mags and loading 1 or 2 rounds in them and having him reload after the slide locked back. Anyways during this drill he dropped the empty magazine and put the next one in...mag fell right out after he closed the slide....picked up the next mag put it home and racked the slide...that one fell out as well. Took a look at the gun and the magazine release was SPLIT/CRACKED? I was like WTF?? (and happy that my RIA that cost 1/4 of what his para carry gun is has never broken a part or needed anything replaced)
I told him to call the factory and talk to them and they should replace it no Q?'s asked. At least I hope they do..I was just curious if anybody has had this happed or not to them...
Also I showed him how to do the poor mans Thompson with 2 full size 1911's :2pistol: He smiled from ear to ear :bash:
