i am sure that my century CETME has a canted triple frame cause the cocking tube is skewed off center to the left. gun shoots consistently, but damn! at 100 yds., the group is like 1-2 inches but like 8 inches over! what would be a good way to correct this

Perro had a very helpful link before the old site went down. I had the same problem with mine as well, but mine was about a foot to the right at 100 yards:eek: , but good groups. Basically to fix it you need to drill out the sling pin. Just drill the peened over end then punch it out. after you drill out the the pin, you need to heat the triple frame with a propane torch to melt the solder, and then the triple frame will turn easily by hand, just wear a welding glove cause it will be hot! To help align the sight to triple frame I used angle gauges from harbor frieght. After you are satified with how it shoots, redrill the slot so it will align again and replace the pin with a new one (same as hk g3 available from rtg for about 8 bucks) then you get to repaint your CETME. Good Luck, Dan

I haven't done mine yet, but do you have to remove the sling pin? I guess it would depend on how far you had to move the triple, but I think there is a groove all around the barrel for the sling pin.

I'll have to look at my virgin barrel when I get home.

If you need the pin with the sling loop, I still have a few.
You can find them here http://www.gearshanty.com/shooting-1.htm

Thanks, Welcome to the board, and Good Luck,

Bill

Neither of my two new barrels have a sling pin drilled in them. The pin actually keeps the triple frame from canting, so the solder doesn't have to hold the it all. I guess that technically redrilling the pin whole isn't the perfect solution, but the only other way to fix would be to repress barrel 180 degrees out and redrill both pin wholes for the sling and the barrel..... Thats why I just did it the easy way.
