Not too many weeks ago when the Mexicans were marching and protesting a local Phoenix news reporter intereviewed a Mexican marcher and his comment was...and I will qoute....GET THIS!:
"Immigration should be a right and not something you have to earn."
Yep..that's their mind set these days.
He should have also said, "When we are here free housing and health care should also be a right." That makes about as much sense.
Long ago I formed an opinion that prejudice should not be what a person is but what a person or a group of people DO to you personally. With that....yep...I guess I am rapidly becoming prejudice.

I admire the effort.
We'll see if it stands the lawsuits..

I've met many native americans that really really REALLY would be considered anti-Mexican. Certain conservative natives feel that way and are trying to wake up the US populace to the fact that this mexican immigration=invasion. and are pissed that we would cede lands and citizenship so easily to some 'walk-overs'
Also, I don't think I'd call your views prejudiced or racist, I'd call it nationalist. Pride in the nation. Icelanders, for instance are firecely nationalist (all 257,000 of them) but not prejudice or racist, or fascist. They're really nice, intelligent, multi-lingual folk. However, they have the strictest immigration rules and laws in the world, and it does keep the rif raff out--the only crim committed in Reykjavik was about 20 yrs ago, when a French tourist stole something from a shop.
In a nutshell to immigrate to Icelnad you need:
1. To be gainfully employed (i.e., a job ready for you ehrn you get there)
2. Change your name to their naming scheme (Take dad's name and add -son to the end if your a guy, -dottir to it if your a gal--I'd have the last name Donaldsson.)
3. And there's the requisite citizenship stuff to become a citizen, of course.

I try not to, but I can't help being cynical about stuff. I do like the fact that these small towns, and suburbs are taking on isues that bigger Government entitys are afrad to take on, but I don't see how thier small budgets will even be able to mak a dent against the likes of the ACLU. I think some groups have gotten way too powerfull in this country.

The driveby's are portraying Farmers Branch as a bunch of hateful bigots. What part of "Illegal" Alien do they not understand? They are here illegally and need to go home. If they have the skills we need they can apply for reentry and get a real social security number.
Our government knows where they are working, the employers of most of them submit tax filings to the IRS. If they have a made up SSN the IRS knows it. If they have a SSN from another person, in a different part of the country, the IRS knows it. The IRS just keeps the money paid knowing it is fradulent and knowing they will not have to pay out benefits to that person at a later date. Heck, it's free money!
If they would just use the information they have and enforce the laws we already have the fine money would pay for ICE and a fence.

The "illegal" part apparently....
The fact that this is even an issue is so far beyond my ability to fathom that it just boils my blood and blows my mind.....
I could rant forever on this one....so I'll just stop.

+1 Right on Longhorn. I love it when they demand rights in a courtroom. Sorry, rights are reserved for legal citizens, they do not have the right to an attorney, shouldn't have the right to a fair trial, or anything else. The only thing they should have a right to is a bus ride to the border after being photo ID'd, finger printed, retina scanned, and DNA sampled. Then they have the right to walk home and bitch about it.

Irritating, to be sure. Illegals should have about as many rights in the country they're in illegally as mercenary fighters in a foreign land...mebbe less
