this all started last sunday,
mid afternoon, heard a chainsaw, no big deal, doesnt bother me, didnt give it another thought.an hour or so later, i go into my kitchen and i see the nieghbor is cutting down the walnut tree on the property line, and dropping huge limbs inside my fence. well wait a minute, i dont care that the tree is coming down, no more walnuts in the yard, but a simple "hey i am gonna cut the tree, you might want to take your dogs inside" wouldve been nice.i deal with it, dogs are ok, i bring them in.

this goes on for most of the evening, limbs in my yard, but he cleans them up every so often.well 9pm, getting settled in to watch the pacific, i see tailights go past my window that faces my side yard...????
my nieghbor now has his truck and rented bucket on trailer in my yard.
thats it, ive had enough.i go out and say "i dont mean to sound like a donkey, but you couldve asked before you drove in my yard" spoke my mind and i turned to walk inside

he replies with a small chuckle "ive seen you guys do it quite a bit and didnt think you would mind"

i stop, turn and raise my arms like WTF and say "its my yard"

he gets upset, says " well ill move it and just leave it the way it is then"

well the tree, looks terrible. doesnt matter, not my tree.i didnt tell him he couldnt drive through my yard, i didnt care.i was more upset that i wasnt warned about my dogs, then he drove through the yard and didnt have the respect for me to even ask!

a few days ago, i went out and, as figured, i have a piece of top rail for my chainlink fence badly bent right under the tree.did he bother to tell me, nope.
not even i tore up your fence fix it yourself.i was so upset, i figured leave it alone, let him sell his house and move(its been up for sale for 5 months or so).
trying to convince myself, that i have more respect for my nieghbors than he does and i am not going to make this a big issue.

well a few minutes ago i heard my dog barking outside, i went to let him in, what do i see? my frinedly nieghbor, with an attitude, walk 20 foot out away from his porch, flip his lit cigarette well into my yard and go back in the house and turn off the proch light.he has spent alot of time outside, and never flipped a butt into my yard before.i dont consider him a friend, i dont talk to him anymore than i have too, just something i dont like about him.i am just so mad that he has such little respect for me and my property now that he is going to act this way.he has been mowing about 6 foot into my front yard since last year, from my fence to the road.

i havent said anything to him, as i have a habit of getting really upset really quick when dealing with disrespectful a##holes.i wanted to go straight over with the butt in hand knock on the door and drop it on the carpet when he answered.i try hard not to upset my nieghbors.keep my dogd in the fence, keep them quiet as much as possible, if they are barking alot i bring them in.i dont run my rc stuff in my yard, dont run my quads or go karts in the yard.

to have them tell, not ask, me to keep my dogs inside for 3 hours because they having someone looking at the house was rude.to not warn me about dropping 6 foot limbs in my yard while my dogs are out is rude.
i dont complain about them letting their dogs run free, no fence, no leash. i dont complain about them barking, they are dogs and dogs do that kind of thing.they have been outside with their dogs for a few hours, not playing just letting the dogs run around while they sit there, i bring my dogs out to play, or they come out with me while i do something in the yard, inside the fence, and they get this attitude and take their dogs in like i invaded their space.

well making this post has settled me down enough that i think i can try to go to bed.maybe after a talk with my mom about it tomarrow, ill have a talk with them, then again maybe not, since sunday i can feel my blood pressure rise when i see them outside.i am sure the next time we go out on the quads he will call the sheriff and complain about people riding up and down the road on 4 wheelers. maybe i will get lucky and he will sell his house, finally.

sorry for the rant, but it helped.

It was wrong of your neighbor not to consult you about what he was doing and seriously he could have handled it a lot better than be jerk about it.

You've show a lot more restraint than many people would have, and I congratulate you on that.

If it was me, if ever there were more tail-lights in the yard again, I'm blocking that vehicle in, calling the cops, and, hopefully have the guy arrested and the vehicle towed to the impound yard. I had a fence contractor park in my yard once, at a former house, well, most fence guys are "subcontractors", and I caused him great concern regarding him keeping his job, and made him go in, and verbally offend my neighbor himself, at risk of losing his job.

I'm not saying this is great advice, but, if he gives up on the idea of selling, and that For Sale sign comes down, it's "Game ON!", and it's going to start raining dog poop and cigarette butts, even if I have to bribe barmaidens to collect great quantities of cigarette butts for me. Probably time to host a "Quad bike and RC tune up party", every Sunday for a while, too.

FWIW, I don't know it for a fact, but it's my understanding that, if you take a large fish, stick it into an old nylon stocking, and let it rot for a few days, then place it into proximity of dogs, said dogs will tend to drag it around, roll around on it, play with it, etc., resulting in rather aromatic dogs.

Good luck with the a-hole, don't forget to be neighborly, i.e., in case he might forget to do it himself, be sure to call up and have his electricity and water shut off a few days before he is scheduled to move.

(just kidding, I don't advocate the breaking of any laws..)

Just reading your saga pissed me off. I can't stand it when people flick cigarette butts anywhere much less my yard. I'd go with the sock fish idea immediately!

You showed way more restraint than I would have a an a$$ like that. get some ground clear and spray it on his front lawn late one night, and just go out to his water meter when he is not at home and use a crescent wrench to turn it off. if you have a buddy that is a plumber borrow his meter key. after you turn the water of fill the meter enclosure with clay and gravel. I swear I am not vindictive, until someone pulls some serious BS like your neighbor.
