Got a welded on rail on my g3 build.
But im having trouble finding a scope to fit.
Eather to long..interfears with the cocking handle
or rear bell hits the rear sight.
Have tried to use 1/2 inch risers...but it looks sick.
What have others done for a scope with this rail.???
help.!
atb auto.

It is a conundrum. You need just the right rings. And in the front even if you can lock open your action, that doesn't mean its not in the way. You just have to work around it. Maybe one of the pitbull type scopes would work better for you.http://swfa.com/IOR-2-12x32-Tactical-35mm-Rifle-Scope-P6738.aspx

Can you post what size scopes you have tried with what rings? Maybe just external dimensions and objective size and the ring height? I will have my rifle back sometime next week with the new rail added and will start optic shopping then so any tips would be appreciated.
Just eyeballing it, it seems like medium sized rings would clear the rear site, but is it a matter of the scope being too high with higher rings?

I changed my cocking handle to lock downwards during my build after tearing a knuckle open on a friends scoped cetme that had the standard handle that locked upwards.

I did the same thing. I'm more careful now.

Well, I wont be getting my rifle back until tomorrow but Im pretty sure I found the right scope for it when the time comes. Just have to do some measuring between the rear site and cocking handle.
To the OP, did you ever get something figured out for the ring height? If my plan doesnt work out Ill be in the same boat as you :)

I hear ya. I searched for awhile trying to find a rail riser that fit the look and feel I was going for but didnt end up with anything that I liked a whole lot. Pretty much everything was either super tacticool or cheap airsoft quality. I am also a bit worried about getting a good site picture with high rings or a riser since the irons work great with my natural position. Raising my cheek weld up an inch wouldnt be too comfortable I dont think.
