Mauser Scout Scope Mount???

Some time in the future I was thinking about getting one of these mounts to use on my 1912 Steyr Mauser w/ a pistol scope to see what what this rifle can really do as far as my relaods and possibly take it to the woods. Has anyone used this set up and how was it? Pros / cons? I don't want to alter the rifle at all so I thought this would be a good set up. Any information would be appreciated.

I've got an S&K mount on my Swedish M96 and one of Darrell's mounts on a VKT M39 and a Tikka 91/30. In all three instances, the scout setup is rather nice. I prefer to shoot with both eyes open anyhow, so using the LER scopes with the scout mounts allows me to do so.

I've popped quite a few prairie dogs with that Swedish Mauser and scout setup, so I'd say it's good to go. :)
