Is there any way to use the Navy plastic trigger group on a CETME? I really like the look but I have read this is not done.
Also, what is the latest on barrels. I am probably going to have to repress my barrel due to bolt spacing. I would like to replace the barrel with a 20". I emailed the PTR people and never heard back from them. Currently, I have a 16.5 barrel.
Thanks,
neilca

The complete Hk Navy style lower will work on a CETME just fine, The only thing you can't do is use the CETME trigger pack or safety with it. If you want to use the Navy style lower you will have to use an Hk trigger group, and an Hk Navy style Safety.

Bladeworks, do you have to replace the bolt carrier as well?

no. Just the trigger internals.

I just ordered a complete navy lower with G3 internals from CTD for $59.95. There was a link on another forum that went straight to it. Seemed like a good deal at the time. It'll be my first experience with the G3 box. Oh Boy!

you'll have to convert it to Semi-auto, and add the semi shelf, and machine some of the plastic inside the ears to get it to clear a Semi-auto receiver.
In other words, its not a drop in fit, but the details have been worked out... there are a few tutorials on here.

I would highly reccomend to anyone getting ready to do a trigger pack conversion on one of these to get a semi auto sear spring, spacer and pin rather than trying to bend the original to fit. Especially if you want a nice trigger pull.. RTG has them here...

Also, I bought one of Turbothis US made two piece aluminum G3 cages, and it was real nice. All depends how much money you want to spend.
Also, for the builders of flats.....with Holescreeks receiver shelf weldment and Turbos cage,,, no shelf welding needed.

I saw that going around on another site here awhile back also,,,,Don't have any idea how that one got started, but it is absolutely false....
You can swap Hk and Cetme FCG's all day long no problem, the only difference between the two as far as function is concerned is the safe and fire positions.
You can install a complete Hk cage in a CETME lower and vice versa, just remember that the safe and fire positions are reversed.
None of the FCG internal parts will interchange, and you have to use a CETME selector with a CETME cage and Hk selector with Hk cage.
The navy lower uses a selector lever all of it's own, and will not interchange with the steel Hk lower lever.

One more thing to keep in mind is that the Hammer, trigger, and Sear are also 922r compliance parts and should be checked out in the old trigger pack before installing foreign parts in the rifle.

Thanks Guys, I bought a Navy lower from CTD and I'm doing my first clip and pin for my PTR. If it turns out I might do another for my CETME.

The CTD lowers have all foriegn made parts which is why they are so cheap. You will most likely need to purchase a US made fire control group (hammer trigger sear) to make the navy lower compliant on your rifle. These can be purchased from PTR unless you replace the internals with the parts form the PTR lower.

Thanks for the heads up holescreek, I ordered one today.
922 won't be a problem with my rifle I am planning a lot more US parts.

On my builds I have to add foreign parts just to balance things out.

That's cool, I just like to remind folks in case someone else reads here and does not know better.

If parts and kits keep going the way they are, soon we will only have US made stuff. A short time back it was tough to figure out what to squeeze out of the 922 list, but not so bad anynmore, just spendy.
