I grew up in West Texas... in a little "camp" called Midkiff. Basically it was a few street with houses provided by El Paso Natural Gas which my dad worked for as a foreman for this plant. Lived there for the first 6 years of my life before we moved to Austin. Population was under 100. Mostly families, and mostly Mexican. There were maybe 5 white families including ours... 2 white kids my age and we were best buds... Jordan Clint and Timothy causing trouble all day long! The Mexican families there didn't speak a word of English, and just kinda flocked together. We all got along, but didn't hang out or anything except for BASEBALL!
So anyways, Google updated their maps all over west Texas, and you can finally see up close and personal where I grew up... the houses were picked up and moved years ago, but the green arrow shows where my house was... overlooking the 9 hole golf course that was literally just a pasture with 9 flags sticking up out of the ground. To the south is the dump where I learned how to shoot a rifle and a pistol (at age 3... lol).
Anyways, figured we could all post pictures of where we grew up. To get a direct link in Google maps, just go to your house, zoom in, and over on the top right, click the link button and then copy the link. Hopefully it will post the whole thing here, but it might end up being a copy and paste deal.
So here's the "house"

Here's the old baseball field... My brothers and sister all played here as well. I was still in Tee-Ball when we left.

Here is the dump... aka site of the annual Midkiff toilet shootin competition...

switch it to map mode rather than satellite and zoom out and you get a really good idea of just how "middle of nowhere" this really is... I was born in Midland, and my mom was in labor for an hour and a half before we even got to the hospital!
Born here...
