It's currently on gunbroker but you be judge whether it's a good or bad bubba. I actually wish I could bid and buy it; something oddly cool about it; maybe cause it's like the Russian version of Kel-Tec's RFB.

The only complaint would be the issue of my cheek weld being the top cover of an AK chambered in .308...notice also it's the side with the optics rail. Guessing that would do some cheek cutting.

I like it! I can't figure out how he worked out the trigger though with that magazine where it is and no extra material added to the receiver to house a transfer bar of sorts.

That grip looks really cool too. Did this guy fabricate everything from scratch???

He mentions the stock set is a KVAR for the 7.62x39 that he modified. This isn't the first bullpup he's listed before. Back in December he had 2 others; one just like the one above and a second in 7.62x39 but I forgot to save pictures.

there is a small dia. rod that runs thru the reciever. i have had 3 of these. (1 was stolen at a gun show) they are fun to shoot, but just not what i like. i sold the other 2. the kit just fits on the rifle. i got mine back in the early 90's when they first came out. there was no modification to the rifle. just take off the old parts and put on the new parts. save the old parts and it can be put back to original.

very cool... for some reason bullpup conversions really appeal to me.

The bullpup always seemed to make sense to me. You know the design and purpose. Even the way you hold it.

I like the idea of a bullpup AK/Saiga, but I don't think I would like this one very much. I've handled a few similar bullpup AKs at gunshows that were converted using this same KVAR furniture/linkage, and I was not impressed. The furniture felt very flimsy and shoddy, and the trigger was mushy as hell, even for a bullpup.

I must say thought, I do like the looks of this one. If you added a cheekpiece (you could even attach it to the side-scope-mount), it would probably feel 1000X better.

I like it, however it needs a check pad/rest.

you could sharpen the edges of the receiver and shoot and shave at the same time

It looks like the French Bullpup with that rail

Speaking of Saiga bullpups, here's a bolt-on product that I don't believe ever made it into production. The website mentions a Series V coming soon but it's been on hiatus since 2009.

It's called the Kushnapup.

I really like the look of those "Kushnapup" stock conversions. Very slick looking. If they'd make one for a 7.62x39 Saiga/AK, I'd be all over that. I really have no interest in a 12 gauge bullpup.

yeah i really dig that, too bad it looks like it never got off the ground.

While not bad as pup's go the first thing that came to mind with the large cheese grater and all the slots was "salad shooter"

I think I saw it in a CTD magazine, but it was a bullpup conversion kit for the AK47-74. It was between 200-300 bucks. I thought it was cool but I am into CETME/G3's right now and want to do the PTR32 build in 7.62x39. The parts kit is down to around 480.00 right now.

I'd like it better if the top rail was lower like this, also what if you cut a slot in the gas tube, and attached the charging handle directly to the gas piston, that way it would be right in front on the left side instead of behind on the right....

Oh yeah, and a thicker piece of steel for a cheek cover would make me less nervous.

I just saw one more thing the stock tang is missing...

No way I'm putting my face that close to a pop-off dust cover. ESPECIALLY firing a .308

I don't know if it's still around, but there used to be a high-speed video of a FA AK being fired with the dust cover removed. Pretty disturbing, how inconsistent the travel of the bolt was, sometimes slamming all the way back, sometimes not, and wobbling to-and-fro as it went back and forth. Yeah, it might be a healthy chunk of cast iron (or whatever), but it's scooting back and forth on two thin pieces of 1MM sheet metal...and I'm assuming that wasn't .308...(I'm not knocking the AK; Love my SAR-1, and I have kits and bent flats to build a couple more AK's...)

Exactly. Now I know that a SAIGA is only semi, and the tolerances may be a little tighter, but not much... But that doesn't change the fact that having that thing pop off at just the right moment would be tantamount to being hit in the face with a baseball bat.

The Kushnapup has evolved a bit, and they're taking pre-orders now (http://www.kushnapup.com/order). The new version can even accept drums.

I'd probably wait on it considering their old Kushnapup was around for years and no one ever saw one produced.
