Got to shoot here on post today, which doesn't happen often. Range Control here pulls more "maintenance" then any range on any post I've been on. Truth be told, I don't think they like the Rod and Gun club using the range. Day started rainy and crappy, but when the sun came out, I figured a few pics from the iphone would be in order to show ya'll the "berm" here :)
Shot my M-14, M-4, 1911 and my .308 bolt gun.

Every time somebody posts pictures of a range with mountains in the background, I just get jealous... stupid glacial outwash plains...
Looks like a good day though.

I'd need somebody there to whack me in the back of the grape with a big stick to keep me shooting instead of gawking at the scenery, I can almost feel the breeze just looking at the photos.....I don't think I could live like that.....Nice, real nice :thumbup::thumbup:

The range on KMCAS was inside an old volcano crater. We still had over 500 yards and an ocean view besides. I wish I had made it to the other islands.

Hey M1, I have a buddy who is in HI and he couldn't bring any of his stuff but his shotgun over because apparently they want him to register all his firearms with the PD. How do you get your M4 and M14 in?

I never really knew what the purpose of the firearm registration was for because some owners don't bother to, others will.
It helps a little considering if one is stolen but other than that I believe it's to keep track of the number of firearms. There was an article mentioning there are more guns in Hawaii than there are people according to the register numbers.
As for your friends other stuff; depending what they are, as long as they aren't NFA/AOW they should be fine. A guy at the range here as a semi-auto Bren, MG34, MG42, DP28 and SG43.
By the way Tanker that range looks much better than the one here, grass is parched dead but the mountains are a little green depending on month.

Henry, bringing my firearms here in my household goods was zero trouble. I did my research before hand and called the Honolulu PD Firearms registration division and had a nice chat. No hi-cap pistol mags, nor "assault" pistols. Once I got my household goods, I had 72 hours to take my weapons to Honolulu PD and register them. I took 12 down there and it took about 2 hours to complete. Once they were registered, they gave me a card I have to keep with me if I have my firearms.
After that, I had to register them on post, which just meant showing them the HPD firearms registration and they copied it and gave me yet more paperwork to have them on post.
Your buddy got some seriously bad information sounds like. If he is on Oahu, here is HPD firearm registration division website....complete with the laws.

That was a nice way to spend the week of rifle qual, in the crator with a nice ocean breeze.
