There's a Gun Club in Rogers (AR) that has a range with some 200 yd lanes. Heard about it from a friend last year. It used to be a pretty exclusive outfit, had to know a member to get in, etc. But in the past couple of years they've made it a little easier--you pay your membership, turn in an application, go to an orientation session with the club range officer. He checks your safety knowledge and awareness, mainly. You get the club handbook and read it, fill out a "test" over range and shooting safety, and that will give you everything you need to pass the RSO's scrutiny.
So tonite I completed the process, went to the range and got checked out with about 8 other newbies.
It's GREAT to have a place to shoot more than 100 yds!
and btw, there's only about 100 members, so when I go during the week, will probably have the place to myself. No waiting, no idiots.
