I need some info on ammo I bought the other day. The headstamp is
marked TZ-80. From what I found out it is IMI from Tel Avia, Israel.
Is it worth buying more or not? Any comments will be most Welcome!:thanks:

I forget the exact headstamp, but there is some israel made ammo that was known for case ruptures.
So i would get to the bottum of this, and find out which headstamps where safe.

I have shot it. Is excellent. But I had trouble reloading it as the brass was soft and pushed into the flutes when I shot the reloads. I am guessing that firing it the first time annealed the brass too soft.

I've shot a bunch of it with no problems. I'd like some more too. :)

I passed on 1000 rnds of that for FREE recently cause I was told by several people, Including the guy trying to give it away, that they had case separation problems. He said the cases where dangerous, all they where good for is the projectile, if you wanted to tear them all down.... MAYBE I SHOULDN'T HAVE PASSED?!?!

so I started searching this tz 80 again and most of the bad talk comes from fal files. The funny thing is the same picture of a destroyed fal that is on this forum, is also on other sites, with the damage caused by many types of ammo. So I wonder, is it Indian, Chilean 75, tz 80, cbc, or what??? if this stuff is so bad, why do I always seem the same picture? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying any of this stuff is good, but it seems like internet speculation has exagerated the problem. (please note that I am still calling this a problem, I do not endorse nor recomend you shoot any of this stuff.) I guess after all this rambling I just want to ask, "HAS ANYONE ELSE NOTICED THAT ANYTIME BAD AMMO IS TALKED ABOUT, THE SAME PICTURE OF SAID FAL RECEIVER IS SHOWN?":nonono:

I had some TZ80 and the only problem I had was duds.

I purchased a couple thousand rnd of mixed Israeli. the big problems were duds, 1 hangfire, and the fact that someone tumbled the assembled ammo to polish it up for sale. There were tracers mixed in, and the powder was effected in some way (broken up I believe) and the rnds were hot as hell.

I burned it all up plinking, but I blame that ammo for taking out the recoil rod and assembly on my CETME...the G3 didn't seem to mind it.

I don't know the headstamp of the Israeli Ive shot, but its the most accurate surplus Ive shot through my Cetme, and it groups sub-MOA in a friend of mine's NM M1A. Sooty in my experience, but extremely accurate.

I'll have to check if its TZ-80... I certainly hope not as it really shoots nicely.
