CZ Police Service Postols

I saw two CZ police service pistols at gun store, a CZ75 POLICE 9mm and a CZ 40 P 40 s&w.
These are new in box but cheaper than the production CZ's.
Are these CZ's any good or should I gust pay a little more for a production CZ?

That IS a production CZ, it's just not the newer model with the front cocking area on the slide.

The one in the picture is the same exact thing as the original CZ75 except it has a decocker instead of a safety (can't carry it cocked and locked).

Nalioth hit it on the head. As you can see from my Avatar I think they rock. I had a 40p like the one you described. I sold it and have regretted it ever since. It was very sweet shooting. If your store has them for favorable prices, then buy at least one. They are wonderful pistols.

I was told by the gun store sales man that the Police ones he has are "service grade pistols" and are not as nice as the production ones and that is why they get them so cheap.
Is this true? Neither one is posted on the CZ web site.
I have a local dealer that sells thousands of guns and he has not seen them before.
He said he would like to order some if I could find out where to get them.

Landtoy. You will not find the CZ40P on their website because it is a special limited run. CZ uses left over slides from the CZ40B and mates them with CZ P01 frames. The make for very nice pistols either way. They keep turning up because there are lots of P01 frames and even more 40B slides. The 40B was originally a contract pistol built for Colt years ago and then cancelled by Colt. I do not know why the decocker 75B in .40 is not on their site. It used to be. Both are just as good as any other CZ pistol. They are not a lesser pistol by any means. If you want all the info you can handle on CZ pistols check out the link below.

I've found ex police guns to be really good. I bought a HK USP .45 and a Sig P226, both were trade-ins from a local cop shop. Both are well used and shoot great out to 50 yards.
