My Hometown Police Department is trading in their HK USP .40 for Glock-22.

I may have a line on several of these pistols. I don't know what the condition will be (cop guns suspect carried much shot little).

Officer price is <$400, if don't know what the "general public" price is going to be.

If anyone is interested, I can get the contact info for their FFL. These pistols might not be available for 2-3 weeks.

I'd be interested depending on the price.

Here's an update. The PD is still waiting for their order of Glocks to arrive. When they do all officers will go through training/Recert with the new pistols. There will be a mass turn-in/issue. Town Council will issue a "directive reguarding disposition" All the Used pistols will go to a FFL. The individual officers will have fist oppourtunity to buyback the pistols. After a period of time the FFL may dispose of the remaining pistols in any legal manner.

As it stands the town has 65 sworn officers and about 85 pistols assigned. The main oppourtunity is to buy from the FFL.

I've put word out that if an officer has "buyers remourse", I may be able to find a buyer for them.

*From what I was told the reason the PD is changing is because HK isn't providing the leval of support they expected. Take that FWIW. I'm not "privy" to the details of what type of support the PD expected.

"The main oppourtunity is to buy from the FFL."

I want one, so what next? How do we 'get in line' for one of these?

Do we stil have an opportunity here, or not?

I'm sure when the officers all have done their turn-in procedure and the FFL has the pistols, tanstaafl4y will let us know how to get in touch with 'em.

Bureaucracy causes things to move slower than nature intended.

Nalioth hit the nail on the head.

Once the pistols have been released to the FFL I'll PM everyone in this thread the FFL's contact #.

I have also put word out through the officers that if anyone buys their pistol and later decides (ie 5 minutes or 2 months later) that I may be able to find buyers. If that happens I'll post back in the thread saying "PM me you email address so I can give you up to the cops(joke)...Put a sell intouch with you (to arrange price, ffl, etc)

OK Finally an update and its not good news. None of the pistols are going to be "sold to the public". Officers have snatched up every one of them. At $335 can you blame them???

I still have feelers out for private sales, but things arent looking good.

Both are fine pistols, but I would rather be issued a USP. Maintenance on the Glock is much easier though.
