here is a pic of my laminate 91/30's that are all stamped matching from classic arms (also my russian sks i got for 100 dollars with 500 some rds of russian military ammo made in 1993)
and my 91/30 PU's (the laminate is a real sniper, resnipered and shoots insanely accurately with normal 54r ammo)
i need to reapply shellac, i got it from a guy who was going to tung oil it but i got it before he was going to sand and apply it!
ive got way to many mosins to photorgraph, i just had these pics online allready
ill get pics of my unissued condition: remington, sestoresk, and westinghouse m91's sometime soon. All three look like new never used rifles.

I heard Winchester made a few back in the day. Anyone know if that's true, and if so, WHERE DO I GET ONE? I had heard that Westinghouse made them, too. That's the first one I had seen, though. Something about Peugot, as well, but not a reliable source.

New England Westinghouse made 769,520 Mosin Nagant rifles from 1915-1917. Remington made 840,310 rifles from 1915-1918. Because these were contracts with Imperial Russia the revolution messed things up a bit and not all of those rifles built under these contracts were delivered before collapse of Imperial Russia and their exit from WWI. Later many were used by the White Russians and the Czech Legion, and perhaps even the US troops sent there to help the White Russians. I am sure that they have not all been accounted for. I saw a Westinghouse rifle come up on Auction arms recently. The price was at about $250 and climbing so the US rifles must command a premium just like the Finns.
I don't think that Winchester ever made any Mosin Nagants. They were pretty busy making US Model 1917 rifles in 1917-18. Winchester did sell thousands of a military version of their Model 1895 lever gun to the Imperial Russian Purchasing Commission. The Winchester 1895's that the Czarists bought were musket style military versions of that fine old rifle in 7.62 x 54R with a bayonet lug and an add-on charging guide to load standard Mosin Nagant five round charger strips. I sure would like to have one of those.

1P21 (3-9x42M) "MINUTA" SNIPER SCOPE
FITMENT: SVD/NDM86/PSL TYPE RIFLES
3-9X VARIABLE POWER ZOOM MECHANISM
AUTOMATIC RANGING AND ELEVATION ANGLE ADJUSTMENT
RETICLE: ILLUMINATED MILITARY W/RANGE ESTIMATION INDICATOR
This sight was originally designed to be the ultimate SVD sniper rifle scope, and was officially adopted by Soviet/Russian forces for both the SVD and the PKM machinegun. 3-9x power zoom and an automatic angle adjustment on it's base according to the range chosen by the user, the so-called "Talon" or MINUTA sight is virtually an automatic version of the original PSO. Although originally designed for the SVD Dragunov and PKM machinegun, 1P21 uses the standard night vision based clamp system, which means it will fit all types of AK and SVD side plates, to include Tigr, NDM-86, Vepr, Saiga, Romanian SAR 1-3, Romak 1/2, PSL/Romak3, MPK, MTK, and others. This sight fits low to the receiver, lower than most PSO models, and therefore it provides a wonderful cheek weld on standard military stocks. Because of this, it also sits more to the left than some PSO models, and therefore may not be suitable for some left handed shooters.
Baseline zero of the sight is accomplished by the use of two recessed turret adjusters. Once this is done, the sight uses a one-knob adjusting wheel for all three functions of zoom, range estimation, and angle of adjustment of the sight. Once the user zooms in to fit the target into a scale located on the rangefinder, the scope has already estimated the range. Range in hundreds of meters is indicated at the top of the sight reticle. Although based upon the 762x54R calibre of weapons, this sight is extremely useful on other calibers of rifles such as AK.
1P21 sniper scope, 3x9x42 zoom power with dual illuminators, in a military dark gray hammer paint finish. Includes black nylon case, special rubber eye piece, forward rubber lens cover, US battery (with internal adapter), original Russian language manual and special English language "Getting Started" instructions.
http://www.tantal.kalashnikov.guns.ru/media2/1P21_logo03.jpg
The side rail is a universal design which has two screws at the top corners that I had to drill and tap the receiver for. I had to shave the side of the stock for a good fit and then there are two screws at the bottom corners.
The rail came with the bottom screws and threaded inserts are screwed into the stock and finally the screws secure the bottom of the rail into the inserts.
I set the rifle in a lead sled and lined the scope with the irons at about 300yds. It's been really windy here lately so hopefully I'll get to the range and try her out this Sat. :)

Heres mine a M91/30 made in 1935 hex reciever, added the scope, refinished the stock, and added a rubber buttpad and flip scope covers (last two not in the pic) I know some may not like me modding a rifle like this but I like it. I kinda like the ATI bolt, overall I have about $300 in this gun, out of the couple of range trips, I have gotten 1.6" groups at a hundred yards, but I know I and the gun can do better. I know I can hit something pretty well, like 2x2' at around 500 yards shooting off the back of a truck bed :) Took me 3 shots though to get ranged in as I didn't know the range.

Yes Sir,
Working on one right now chambered in .300 WSM, also mag fed. CIP ( European version of our SAAMI ) says these actions are proofed at 125 % of the rated cartridge pressure. Mosin ammo operates at 57,000 psi or so. .300 WSM runs about the low to mid 65 K. I read about some Mosins in Finland that were shooting .300 Win Mag, albeit a single shot. If it'll hold up to .300 WM, why not .300WSM ? So I'm working this one out right now.
ALSO rechambering a Steyr M - 95 to shoot Mosin ammo for a customer down in Texas. Using a Green Mtn AK barrel blank. Will post it soon as I get it done.

Thank you Sir ! I joined the forum over here only recently. I might be a gunsmith with a type 07 FFL, but there's a LOT I can still learn. There seems to be a number of very talented folks over here on these pages, and I'm here to pump some info out of them if they'll tolerate me doing so. A day that goes by that I don't learn something new, is a day that I feel I've wasted.

I read about this conversion too. I'd love to get my hands on one just long enough to get some measurements. I might want to make a magazine fed modification in other calibers too.
Just this morning I had a customer drop off another M - 95 Steyr that he wants to convert to .410 shotshells. I suppose the way I'll go with that one is remove the barrel and punch out the bore to make it smooth. I figured a reamer drill like the ones you drill out a barrel to reline it will do the trick. Only I won't put a new liner in it. The case length for the 8X 56 Hungarian is 2.21 ", and the cartridge OAL would be longer with a loaded round. So the 2 1/2 " 410 looks lke it will fit. Bolt head mods will be negligible as the rimmed case head on the Steyr is .556 ". The .410 is only a few thousandths smaller. A little extractor work, and Voila ! Straight pull shotgun.

I read about this conversion too. I'd love to get my hands on one just long enough to get some measurements. I might want to make a magazine fed modification in other calibers too.
