I picked up another K43 last month from GB, it's a AC44 Panel Cut and here it is with it's brothers. (all Walther Rifles) AC44's I like this one because it does not have a sanded stock like my other 43's so it is more of a collector than a shooter, enjoy the porn!

WOW
Great spread, I have always wanted one also. When I was a kid there were sold in the American Rifleman in much the same fashion as the SHOTGUN NEWS sold FN 49s and Hakims in the 80s. They were not cheap in the 1960s (compared to their peers)
They had one as a prop on the old COMBAT TV show. Hense my childhood interest. The ones I see come up now are out of my price range. As WW 2 full power semi autos rank, on a scale of 1 to 10 where would a reasonble place to put it? (Saying Garand is a 8).
I would like to see a side by test of the Garand, G 43, SV 40, MAS 38/39 and the Swede Ag 42.
Side question, Why would they scope a semi auto with thousands of M 98s to pick from? You would think getting that rifle issued on a full rifle company level would be the priority

Follow up shots, it's easier to do with a Semi than a bolt action. Yes the 98k was a better sniper but the Germans came up with the DMR rifle concept. Every squad would have a marksman with a G43 scoped rifle, at least that was the theory.
Yes they are expensive all 3 were purchased over a 15 year time period.
The G/K43 comes in 3rd after the Garand and the SVT, the Mas 49 was post war (never heard of the 38) and the Swede was never proven in Combat. The FN49 would eat all of them for lunch. I see the FN49 as a weapon of the second world war seeing it was developed in that time frame, Just never Issued by the British who lacked the funds to do so.
Most of these rifles were used without the Zf4, Just like the Garand or Svt40 and BTW Norton, Combat had some real shooter G43 on many episodes. I know about the prop your talking about. I have the Combat DVD boxed set and I used to watch it @ 19:30 on Tuesday night on ABC. :)

well never got any trigger time behind a g43 but i do own an 8mm fn49 and would say its almost as accurate as my garand but not quite.and an svt-40. ide take either that doesnt break down over a 2 or 3 k g43 ide be afraid ide break, ive heard from many owners they were easily broken and had issues.B ut personally have never had the pleasure of firing 1.so still up in the air for me. hitler would have gave his miitary another 5 yrs before he started that war we may all be speaking germnan now. or japanese. their knowledge and skill was way past ours at the time ,just put a nut in charge doomed to fail every time.We were very unprepared for that war when we entered it. American men and will won that war.along with the allies from across the pond.A LONG WITH THE INDUSTRIAL MIGHT WE HAD COMPARED TO THE AXIS POWERS.As yamamoto himself said i think we have awakened a sleeping giant were all doomed to fail.

Never say never, shooter grade G43's can be found for around 1.2K-1.5K They are fun to shoot and very accurate and if you have to sell it you can easily get your money back.

The Ruskie looks like something from a 1950s Cold War Comic book.. My Alby SKS's stock looks very much like it.
