We'll I had a GEW88 show up on my doorstep yesterday, I'd ordered from CFS, back in March and I didn't think it was gonna come in because they started selling the box of junk right after I ordered it.
The condition of the metal is quite good, and it came with a bolt that is completely numbers matching down to the firing pin, which is broken) But the wood is horrible, it is worse than any I got from OWS, the butt is completely missing and the side is missing up to the recoil bolt.
I have enough pieces of stocks to make a complete stock, but holding it all to gather has me worried.
What should I use to graft a butt on to the rest of the stock? I was thinking of hardwood dowel rods glued in with Gorilla Glue. I done that on forend pieces and they seem strong as original. Anybody ever done anything like this before?
Thanks

May I suggest Ducttape?

Just my thoughts...If you are going to make a shooter out of it...buy a new stock.

If you are looking for a project / or a conversation piece: Dowels and biscuits will hold it together, but may not withstand ALOT of shooting.

Had this guy used more tape his magazine may have remained intact

There aren't any new stocks being made, occassionally one will show up on Ebay. I don't think I'll be making a shooter out of this one, the stock is probably a little far gone. It'll end up a wall hanger.

Try the dowls and gorrilla glue. It might take a while to fit the parts together but It worked for the missing forearm I got on my Ceterfire systems M 1888
