The ishy conversions will accept a 410 shell as long as it's not the 3" magnum, It won't fit.

Those 410 Ishys, when they were still being used by Indians, used a non-necked down 303 shell. When they were imported a lot were bored out to take the American 410 shell.
I have seen guys take a 303 case, load it as a blank and fire form it into something they can use in these 410s. A couple resulted in split necks but most were okay.
They are fun to shoot with 410 slugs and the ones I have shot were pretty accurate.

I have some 12 mm(36 Cal) ammo i got when i bought mine, It's pretty mild compared to the 410 shells.

I would have liked to get in on one of those Eddystones when the CMP had them. I've got three of the 2A's. I didn't see any stock repairs on two of them, the third I have yet to unpack.

Not to hi-jack your thread Schultz, but if your shooting your Enfields your either sitting on a mess of surplus ammo or your reloading.
if your reloading, WHAT BULLET ARE YA USING???
I've tried several different manufacturers and have never been able to get any accuracy compaired to what my small, dwindling stash of 303 Brit will give.
you got any tricks for reloading the 303, please, do share.

I get pretty good accuracy when I reload 303.
Go here http://www.303british.com/ and look at some of his recipies.
One thing I do is to use the same brass on a particular rifle and necksize only.
Plus I am sitting on a mess of surplus too.:p

Here's my Ishapore Enfield with bayonet.
It is one of many project guns I have. I'll strip the black paint off all the metal and refinish the metal some cheap way. Probably try out baking while coated in transmission fluid as someone once recommended. That sounds good and cheap.
The wood is in GREAT condition, with only one small arsenal repair to the end of the buttstock. I'll probably leave the wood alone.
It's a fun shooter, however, the bolts on Enfields are apparently notorious for moving a little during firing. My bolt handle moves up pretty far when fired. It scares me into believing that eventually it will slam out of battery and rip my thumb off. Subsequently, I have only shot this rifle once (at the CETME shoot)...

Most of mine love the 150 grain bullets. Heres some that works for me:
150 Gr Spitzer with 45.0 grains of Winchester 748
150 Gr Spitzer with 42.5 Grains of ACC 2520

Longhorn, mine doesn't move but still scares the hell out of me on how easy it opens. I barely pull the bolt and it flips up. I've been a little worried about it coming in contant with my face. But then again, I don't have that great of a face to mess up.

Here is My 1917 SMLE MK1* made at Enfield lock. It has a 1943 dated brass disk on the butt stock. The second is a Savage No 4, that still has her US made stock. I also have a Wilkinson to go with the SMLE. I will post my M 17 with my US rifles. If I had a P 14 I would hang it up with the the English rifles.

i had a chance to buy a mk4T the sniper one at a gunshow with original scope and all but the damn thing was missin the top half of the barrel piece so i scratched it and ended up with a reg mk4 no 1 that looked like it hadn't been shot i looked through the bore and it was solid, dude wanted 175 and i snaked it for a 100 bucks, one thing im curious is it didnt have any import marks, what does that mean? its the one thing i haven't understood is it more value or what?

It means the rifle was brought into the states before 1986 or a private dude bought it from somebody who had it here before they started stamping them with who was the import agent.

They both look great, was the jungle carbine clone made by Navy arms?
Man I knew I should have bought one back when they were plentiful. AIM had a batch of real Jungle carbines in fair shape, I can't remember what they sold them for. But I can just kick myself for not buying one. I have wanted one since I was a kid.

It's a Gibbs Norton. I think Navy Arms was a sister company though.

Closest I have is the M1917 US Rifle, same action, different caliber.
I like it better than my Springfield 03A3, even with the rear sight.

Thank you sir. That No.1 has the slickest action of any bolt gun I have ever shot. It was a total basket case when I got it.

still need to find a #4T and a "tanker" #4. I know the tankers aren't issued weapons but there cool anyway. Hopefully I find a #4T before I buy a

I picked this up today.
No 4 Mk 1
Curious lack of ID #'s on left side of action.
Very clean w/ outstanding bore.
Seller thought it was produced at ROF Maltby, 1944

Yes that is a nice one. I had both of mine out today trying 150 grain Hornaday bullets with IMR4064. 39 grains showed promise. I also tried 15 grains of Blue Dot for plinking loads. It worked pretty well. I will load some more up with 16 and 17 grains.
