I really wish my PSL had the bayonet lug, not cause I want to knife someone, I just like my guns to look "original". So I came up with this: Well, I haven't made it yet, but I think it will work.

Take a Romy gas block like this.
A little trimming and a hole, maybe a little weld on the gas hole, Viola..

Looks just like the factory part...

Good idea. Looks like it'll work as you plan.

thats a good idea, never thought of that.
i was gonna just put some weld on the "ground off" lug on my rifle and then grind/file it to shape.with your idea i wouldnt have to refinish anything.

As I own a WASR and agree with you fully here, I wish someone would do a tutorial on gasblock replacement.

Excellent idea, Wild Bill. Real creative thinking. And I also like mine to look original.

on a side note, can you get your muzzle break off? mine is really tight dont know if i can get it off or not. its supposed to screw off and be the same thread as an ak

some of them were pressed on ( no threads), some were threaded. some were pressed or screwed on then tack welded on the bottom.

Mine was welded, cut that with a dremel and it screwed off, the FSB will be another story :)

even though it is the threaded type it is welded on? i was wanting to swap mine out with a different muzzle attachment. i cant see any weld but its on so tight i will have to put it in a vice to see if i can get it to turn

Yes it had a very small weld at the bottom., then it is just a standard 14x1 LF thread under.

Here it is all done, except not installed, I need a muzzlebreak to figure out where to install it on the barrel. I welded up the cleaning rod hole as well, since the PSL doesn't have one.

WHAT!!, no one told me there was a hole on top as well!!!

I'll have to take it off and drill the hole, it would have saved some hassle, I could have just opened up the gas port hole, and it does have the cleaning rod hole...oh well live and learn :)
