well guys i put the key in today and fired her up!!!

welded the cocking tube this morning,,, and i was going to wait until tomorrow to do the test fire,,, but i couldn't do it,, i had to do it before i came to work....man this thing is a honey....

it seems to be cycling just a little slow and it looks like the ejector is riding the bolt and carrier,,,, i think i got the grip housing just a smidgen to high..but it fits nice and tight...... i plan on ironing that out in the morning....

ran about 8 rounds through,,,, ok,, just the one issue

THANKS EVERYONE for all the help with my questions.... bolt gap was at .021 when i was checking everything,, when i welded the cocking tube and then slid the bolt home it dropped to a really snug .020,, almost have to force it in,, so i'm saying .019

shot it at about 75 yrds and the windage looks good,,, so i guess i got the trunnion in square,,,,,got to get every thing slicked up and ready for the finish.....

I SURE HAD A BIG GRIN THIS AFTERNOON:thumbup:

Congratulations.

these rifles are not the easiest to build, but when you get it all right, they are sweet.

A lot of bad talk has been made at the range I use about CETME and G3 clone rifles. Mostly from the HK snobbs, but after I had them test drive my home built CETME and G3, they were amazed. Just about everyone that I have let test fire my guns that also owns a true HK or PTR91 says that mine run smoother than theirs.

And yeah, that grinn takes a few days to go away.
