View Full Version : Receiver for Israeli Fal
Ok, my second CETME is nearing completion and I am thinking of building my Izzy HB Fal kit. I need to find a receiver that will accept my izzy heavy barrel. Where can I get one of these. It has a slightly different thread from the std metric thread. I have looked at Century, Coonan, Entreprise and DSA to no avail.

There are no receivers that I know of (Entreprise might have one) that offer that pitch. Most just chase the threads (they are that close) and call it a day.
Just get a 1x16 die and chase the threads on your barrel. :icon_biggrin:

Sorry to but in here, but "chase the threads?"
I ask because eveutally I want to add another HB to the collection, the C2 is lonely.

Yes. The interference is very slight. How do you think all those Izzys have been built?

Thanks, I'll do that.

Sorry to be dumb about it, but what do you mean to chase the threads? Having never built one before I'm unfamiliar with the term.

Beprepared, you take a cutting die in the size listed above and run it over the existing threads.

i think that the israel metric and the regular fal metric are the same except for the thread pitch.

Every other thread is the same except for the barrel. As M1 Tanker says. In a normal situation one would not just run a new die thread over the old one. In this case the 1X16 and the Izzy thread are so close that it is acceptable.
As a side note if the kit in question has changed hands a few times you might want to check the barrel. Some of the sellers of the Izzy kits would chase the threads before you got it unless you were building on a SBL receiver back in the 90's
this barrel is an original HB that hasn't been altered. This will be my coolest rifle when I get it done :)

what about an 80% receiver and have the threads matched.
I think for this build I just want to buy a 100% receiver as I don't have a mill. I did think about it though.
