For the sake of my grand and/or great grandkids I ordered a full set of springs for my Ruger P95DC. 50 or more years down the road (less than that, likely) finding a spring for the Ruger could prove impossible. The order included 3 mag springs and a spring that is supposed to be factory fitted only. So for $35 I have a spring fixit kit coming for a gun that is probably near indestructable otherwise unless left in the rain, as most steel parts are stainless steel. Prices have about doubled from my early gun instruction manual, but I think the price is still good for factory parts.
I hope guns are still legal down the road.

that IMHO is very smart thing to do. buying spare parts now, some of the companies are not going to make it and then secondary parts suppliers are going to be asking a higher price for their parts. that is the way the system works. if you never need them that is even better. kind of like health insurance, hold it  i don't want to go there just now.

Good planning, have have done some similar things for my kids, the oldest being 7. Without the springs they are just cool paper weights.
