Interesting the way the lower is pinned to the receiver well behind the tpical location. I wonder if it could still be done that way?

It looks sort of like the way the original Mars imported Cetme was imported, with the extended blocking wedge.

Maybe it is maybe not, I can tell one thing it hasn't stoped people from bidding on it. (Deep Pockets):2pistol:

I doubt it,I can see why the ATF didn't like these. A nefarious fellow could prolly use a pair of needlenose pliers to pry off that flimsy hollow shelf thingy with the pin hole in it. That would expose the receiver's actual lower pin hole, thus allowing a sel.fire lower to be installed. Not a very foolproof design. THUS to novelty of this one......:airtight:

if you were aware of how little it took to accomplish this on a modern day HK91 it would scare the crap out of you

its definately a very rare gun.
i seen one with the real pin on lower (the kind that was imported before this style pin on pack) sell for $15,000.00 at discount firearms on boulder highway many years ago. i was able to play with it and finger $*%& the crap out of it and take good pics before it shipped to its new owner. Nice gun, but you're long past a real registered receiver HK machine gun at that point and for what?? A semi auto that you wont ever want to shoot in fear of breaking something. Amazing its fetching the cash in the recession/depression.
I get the collector thing, i'm one myself, and dont mind spending money on a quality item, just amazes me at what HK collectors are willing to pay for stuff - in a world of compromise, some truly dont!!! cant wait to see the final price!!
Mike
Spring rod is bent. I guy I knew had one in '79 and it didn't look like that. Not hard to replace beck when HK would sell you or give you a new spring guide rod. Dremmel off the teat of the old one and peen over the teat on the new one.

nope
the MARS CETME was the last that was able to be done like that.
they made HK change it to the current configuration you see (and century copied HKs method for there guns as did all the other clone makers)

Nice gun.
Unfortunately, it's a little too pricey for me. :icon_neutral:
