Anybody actually try that new X-91 50 rd drum on a CETME?

Yea I know the CETME is not listed as compatible, but I figure a lot of them work with german alloy and steel mags, as well as CETME mags.

I figure mine works with just about any magazine I slap into it, german alloy, steel, 5 round, 20 round, 30 round, CETME mags...it might work with the 50 round drum.

Anybody else try it?

I haven't seen a CETME with one either. I don't even know if you'd be able to return it because they do state it's not compatible.

Modifying a .99 cent aluminum mag or 1.99 steel mag isn't a big deal but modifying a $250 drum is taking a gamble. Even if it fits there is no guarantee that it will run smoothly in the CETME because of them being out of spec most of the time. :icon_neutral:

There's no reason it shouldn't fit an in-spec CAI CETME, as far as I can tell, but as Noskov pointed out CAI CETMEs are quite often out of spec.

If your CETME works well with steel and aluminum G3 mags, I'd bet it would work with this. My CETME, on the other hand, is very finicky with HK mags, and only works well with steel CETME mags.

At any rate, I can't afford to spend $250 on a magazine, nor can I afford to shoot 50 rounds of 7.62x51 in one go. :icon_razz:

Same here. If 7.62 suddenly got real cheap I might consider a drum. Migt also reconsider a 1919A1.

They are well made and fit both the same. I trimmed my Stainless Steel receivers to work just like the stamped since there was just a tad of extra metal.
