ordered 10 sa battle packs on the 21st ... as advertised on there site..

c.c. was charged on the 22nd ....

e mail them to when ammo would be shipped ......

there response was no such order was placed .... OK now I'm getting angry here... e mailed them back as to why c.c. was charged and ammo should be shipped because my c.c. was charged... received another e mail from them stating .. that there was no record of my order but they are crediting my cc back the charges... i told them no send me the ammo .. started to get the run a round so i called them ......

they told me they don't know what happened and how my credit card could be charged with no record of my online order .... and thus they could not ship me the ammo as they were out of stock now ......

OK so I'm pissed and got the shaft ... i told them i am driving out there and disputing this in person ( there only 45 minuets away from me ) and expect a substitute in place because of due diligence as a consumer my order was accepted my card was charged ( i am taking a bank statement showing such) and as agreed i payed for it and they dropped the ball . the person i spoke to all of a sudden started singing a different song together ..

i said i would be there Tuesday morning

cant wait to see what happens here ......

what a looser of a company to deal with ...

When I ordered a CZ52 from them they screwed it up & when I called a few days later to ask why I had not recieved it yet they said there was no order. My CC was only billed once & I got the gun so I was pleased. Sorry your results were different.

the only issue i ever had was the ammo deal for 7.62x39 that was so cheap that everyone ordered to find out it was a mistake on the website, even though we all kind of thought that, they should have at least gave us a coupon for future purchases

I always had good luck with them. I have bought rifles pistols carbines and ammo all with no trouble. But I alway do it by phone and write down who I talk with after I finish. I just had the same thing happen to me with a milsurp sleeping bag I ordered from Millitarysuplus.com on line without ever talking to a person. My card was charged and I never got the bag. They said we shipped it so what ever happen after that point is your problem. Now the phones just ring and no one picks up.. I will never order like that again.

i no longer order anything thur the internet, i will call them to place my order.

i had problems with aim, centerfire,io and a few others doing this a couple times on internet orders. if you talk to them they will tell you they do not keep the web sites up to date.

in fact i don't do credit card orders anymore, either COD or i send them the payment. i have not had anymore problems with any of them.

I ordered 3 of those same battlepacks from AIM Tuesday night over the internet and received same on Friday.

Excellent turnaround considering they are closed on Wednesdays.

I have purchased from AIM on many occasions with no real problems. On a recent ammo order I got some really crappy Bulgarian 7.62 x 54R ammo and I sent a polite email to simply inform them of the condition of the product that I had purchased. I didn't ask for anything but they sent me back an answer that said they would check the condition of the ammo they still had. I got another email confirming the poor condition along with an apology and a ten dollar credit to be used on my next purchase (I applied it to the purchase of some Hungarian Light ball ammo which was very satisfactory). So, for me, they have been good guys to deal with.

I don't like ordering on the internet either, I call them. I have not had any problems with Aim, Centerfire is another story.

Same here. I ordered some SA and some 7.62x54R Hungarian Light Ball on tuesday. UPS says it will arrive this tuesday. Every company can make mistakes.

I ordered a sling and some other items a few weeks ago OVER THE INTERNET and didn't receive a thing. I called them and they were VERY nice, sent out a replacement immediately. Never saw the first order. Which reminds me, I need to call them.

I remember that too-good-to-be-true 7.62x39 screwup. We all suspected it to be a fluke, and it was. I had no hard feelings. I got in on that last $40/pack SA deal, and I got the order in 2 days. AIM has a very good reputation. Everyone screws up, especially when there is a national feeding frenzy going on everytime some surplus 7.62x51 shows up.

I didn't order any this round (probably stupid). But about seven months ago I ordered two case's of SA 7.62 and a case of Guat 5.56. AIM called me up and discussed the shipping charge, turns out that I was just under some weight amount that would give me a shipping break. So I ended up adding four more 7.62 BP's.
Yes, they got to upsell me a little on product, but I was very happy that they did.

I have never had any problem with them and I would say that their prices, quality and prompt shipping have made them a favorite with me. Sorry to hear that they bungled your order. I hope you get some kind of satisfaction from them. Good luck.

I love going to AIM when my work gets me down to Middletown every four months or so.
If I lived 45 minutes away, I sure wouldn't be having ammo shipped from them.

I don't live far from Middletown, about an hour, and probably could have driven there, but figured with gas over $3 and my time the shipping ($12) and was worth it.

I have never had any problems with AIM.

One bad experience, either mine or others', doesn't make for bad consumer or company business. I try to remember that the people I might want to get angry with is just as entitled to make a human error as I am.

I have had many good dealings with aim, though I talk to a rep on the phone and I never use a credit card. I thank AIM profusely for all that $147 a cans of SA they sold me over the years...yeah!!!

The only problem I had with them was when I bought a S&W 5904 Police Trade in. The pistol was much rougher than they described and there was a HUGE burr on the barrel's feed ramp. They offered to exchange it, but the dealer I used for the transfer was going to charge me again.
They made a fair and acceptable price adjustment. I've bought from them plenty without problems, but I agree that calling is almost always better.

I haven't had any trouble with either AIM or Centerfire. I ordered 20 AR 30 round mags at about 2:00 PM and forty eight hours later the UPS guy dropped them off. I also did pretty good with AIM, someone here on the site mentioned that had battle packs and $50 each and I received those in about three days which included my faxing (and confirming by phone the next day) a copy of the driver license.
You're kinda scaring me with these horror stories. I thought I'd lucked out and found two top notch organizations.

Never ever had any problems in my dealings with AIM Surplus. They are amongst the few that bend over backwards to resolve any issues and that's why I tend to recommend them.

Since richl has never posted the outcome to this issue, at least on this thread, it would be nice if this was locked until he does so, I'm tired of seeing the headline "Aim Surplus Sucks" when we don't know how this worked out.

since we're digging this one back up, I'll post my negative feedback for AIM here. I ordered some silver Bear 308, and a bunch of other ammo... Ammo was in stock when I ordered. They held my order because they said they didn't have my ID on record, and by 2 days later when I got it all settled with them and got them to accept my ID, THEN they inform me that Silver Bear is no longer in stock... Could be normal protocall to hold orders and all that, but when I was one of the first to order the product that they posted for sale, I would like to get first dibs on it... Luckily, by the time I made it back to the site to find a replacement I found SA battlepacks for uber cheap only minutes after they put it up for sale, so all is well. I just like dealing with the smaller outfits as they are more inclined to customer service. I struggled with AIM because it was as if I was dealing with someone who couldn't care less if I bought from them or not.

Should they have had your ID on record?

K98, I coulda sworn I had bought from them before and given them my ID, but it was no biggie afterall.

What I didn't like is how non-personable everyone I spoke with and e-mailed with were. Like I said, they treated me as if they didn't need my business... they didn't care if I was first to order or 45th, and they weren't going to hold my 4 boxes of Silver Bear along with the other $200 worth of ammo I was buying. So I cancelled my whole order. I can buy the rest of the stuff I was buying elsewhere, so there was no need to buy it from them... the reason I was buying was to check function in my Cetme with Silver Bear.

No real harm done in the end as I think I came out ahead, just my impression.

I've had numerous dealings with AIM and have no complaints. The one snafu I had was because I transposed the numbers on my credit card. They phoned the next day and we took care of it. Jfowl, whats the report on compatability of Silver Bear in your CETME ?

jfowl31
08-18-2007, 01:43 AM
Not a clue bataanboy... they wouldn't sell it to me. The SA i bought after I cancelled that order works flawlessly though.

Many others report that it works fine, just dirty and not extremely accurate. I assume its similar in performance to Wolf

Jfowl, Were they out of it? Is that a Barnaul brand?

jfowl31
08-18-2007, 09:55 PM
yeah, they were out of it 2 days after my order when they finally approved my ID... when I ordered it was in stock... hence my frustration.

And Yes, Silver Bear is Barnaul. I was anxious to try it out being that it was steel cased but no laquer coating.
