Sounds like the start of another Kahoolawe. There was so much unexploded ordinance laying around in 1978 you had to be careful where you stepped.

5 or 6 of the Mariana Islands are uninhabited I forget the exact number and they can't find one that could be used for a range? Of course there will be environmental damage, that's what shooting live ammo does. Can't shoot without breaking something but there are somethings less damaged then others.
