I posted a long time ago, maybe before the boards crashed, about a batch of LakeCity ammo I bought from CTD. I wasn't thrilled, complained, and received a prompt and full refund. No problem with that. I bought 4 twenty round boxes and checked them when I received them. NASTY, dented, extractor/ejector marks and some serious tarnish in places, dates from 99 to 56. Out of 80 rounds I culled 26 that didn't wobble when rolled or didn't have black streaks on it. When originally purchased, I fired a few rounds and quit when I thought I had a squib. Turns out a split case was it. Weird crap was left in my barrel resembling saw dust!
Today, I had a magazine full of this ammo and thought,STUPIDLY, I'd try it. It didn't sound or feel like the SA and after 5 rounds it wouldn't chamber. It was totally filthy and the case was oversized according to another fella on the range who reloads. I gave him what I had to take home and check out.
Just be careful! I should have destroyed this stuff since CTD didn't even want it back. I'm not knocking any one or any company here. Just know that supply is down and more crap will be passed off on us! DR
