Yesterday went out and road my snowmachine down a section of the Irondog trail. Today I am about to bottle my first batch of "real" beer a bitter. I outgrew the Mr Beer kit after two batches of what turned out to be really good bases for apple beer and one really good amber that I treated like a real beer and threw out the recipe that I had (and didn't add sugar). Unfortunately the fun is about to end and I have to start working again:mad:

My uncle used to live up there for a few years. I was looking through his photos over Christmas. I would love to take a month to visit up there sometime.

My wife wants to take a cruise up there someday. That's the only state that I have yet to visit, so you know I want to eventually.

I thought the rough couple of days part would be about the hangover. ;)

I have a friend that JUST moved up there this past week. Her husband works for schlumberger as an oil research guy, so I suppose it was in the cards for them.
I have yet to hit Alaska and HI, I told them I would come up and visit when it's not butt ass cold.

and brew well.
AG< how do you even get the yeast to stay active? you're fermenting inside, right?
I have a buddy who bottles in plastic 2-liters, because the beer dont' stay 'round long at his place. My bro bottles withthose big flip tops, because the top will just pop, no glass breakage or flying bottlecaps. :)
had a friend that brewed awsome beer but he got executed in the phillipines by the roadside.he was in the peace corp.(go figure)

I used a 5 gallon plastic bucket and lid. I ran a plastic hose into a bucket of waterwhile it was still fermenting. Then strained it of with cheese cloth.
I made beer and Hard cider that way. Yhe hard cider was easy but it won't keep long. I used a bunch of those cheap champange bottles left over from a wedding party and found you can cap them with a normal capper. They are way to thick to burst. People really at partys do a head turn when you open a champange bottle with a bottle openering and pour beer or cider out of it.
