View Full Version : Barnual 308 range results

Just got back from the range. I finally got to try out the Barnual zinc coated steel case stuff I got from AIM in a Cetme. It functioned great. No problems at all with cycling the rounds. BUT... It was inaccurate as hell. Shot all over the paper. I just put a scope on this gun and thought it was moving around until I put in some SA and started shooting inch groups with it. Tried it in my FR8... same results. Crap! I guess I will run it through my MG42 as spray and pray ammo.

I had the same result with Wolf, worked fine, but not as accurate as SA.

I recently shot some Silver Bear (made at the same plant as Bernaul) soft pt. 140 grain rounds out of my cetme and they were pretty accurate. It fed well and I decided that I was probably going to buy some more until, on the last mag, I had a case head separation. That made me kind of weary of that ammo and I think I'll stick to mil surp which I have had no problems with.

that sucks ,i love shooting barnaul blue box out of my sks's ,its pretty hot and FAIRLY ACCURATE . unfortunatly no one seems to be able to get it anymore and i'm running low!!!

Silver bear, brown bear, tiger, and wolf are all made at Tula cartrigeworks in Russia.

I have a case of Brown Bear that says it was made by Barnual. It has Barnual's address in russia and phone #'s right on the box.
