Is there a FAQ for removal of the cocking handle? If not there should be.
I need to install my US handle but don't know how.

I actually just removed and reinstalled the cocking handle on my cetme for cleaning for the first time today. It's really pretty simple and I'll try to guide you through it.
1. Remove the buttstock & bolt carrier.
2. The cocking handle should now be at its rearmost position. You should notice two holes in the cocking tube: one at approx. the 7 o'clock position & one at approx. the 2 o'clock position. Rotate the cocking handle around so that the pin holding the cocking handle in the cocking handle support is visible in these holes.
3. Use a hammer and a punch to pound this pin out. Hit the pin from the bottom.
That is all there is to removing the cocking handle. When you remove the pin it's a good idea to hold your hand over the cocking handle because the cocking handle spring might take off on you like it did on me.
Reinstallation is just the reverse process of the removal of the cocking handle. Before you remove the handle, though, I'd recommend noting exactly how to spring is installed so you know how to put it properly when you're ready to reinstall.

Oops, I forgot to post this link to a G3 schematic that should clarify all of the part names I used just in case you are unfamiliar with their name:

landtoy80,
strip the rifle in the normal manner, buttstock, FCG, and bolt assembly.
move the cocking handle to the rear into the area at the end of the stroke where you would lock the bolt assembly open.
take a good look at how the cocking handle and spring are before you take it apart, take a picture if you have a digital camera for referance later.
there is a hole above and below the locking notch, thats were the pin that holds the cocking handle and spring in place is pushed from the top hole, out the bottom hole.
the cocking handle and spring will come out after the pin is removed.
PAY CLOSE ATENTION TO HOW THE SPRING AND THE COCKING HANDLE FIT TOGETHER AND INTO THE COCKING PIECE, THIS WILL BE THE HARDEST PART WHEN REASSEMBLING
place the spring into the recess on the cocking handle and slide it into the cocking piece, the spring will be under tention to push the cocking handle back flat against the cocking tube, line the hole in the cocking handle up with the hole in the cocking piece and the top hole in the cocking tube and slide the pin back in place.
its a lot easier to do than explain, just be sure you know how the spring goes back in before you take it apart
hope this helps

landtoy80,
I just read what JayGeeWentWorth posted and I should have noted that the pin on my rifle didn't need to be driven out, just pushed out with very little effort, so take note that you may have to drive yours out.

Got it.
You need to get the spring into the cut on the Support for Cocking Handle.
Once you get the spring in all you need is a punch to line up the hole so the pin will drive in.
I did need a good wack to get the pin out.
Every think fell when I got the pin out so I had no idea how the Support for Cocking Handle went in. The schematic helped with how it went.
