Saw this one while browsing forums for anything interesting.

Never seen a parts kit for one of these before but, correct me if I'm wrong, but don't think it can be saved. :icon_neutral:

long mountain outfitters, a local shop, has had these kits for years
they are pretty torched, and would take alot to rebuild

The reciever is pretty dang thin on those.

Would welding a reinforcement plates along the torch cuts internally be the only way to rebuild one?

you can rebuild it
there are rails that rivet inside of it that would position the parts in relation to where they belong - actually you can see the 2 rails in the picture of the kit

the problem that i see is that it has a thin stamped sheet metal receiver that has had alot of metal torch cut out of it, and rewelding a thin sheet metal stamped receiver is going to twist like crazy when rewelding it, but anything is possible with enough time and patience.

As stated, almost anything can be welded, I had a friends whos father was a welder for fourty years, I watched him weld a patch into a sheetmetal roof of a car, no distortion as he was good.
