I just traded for a shotgun built for turkey shoots only.It is a 12ga pump with a custom 36" barrel.I believe it is an old Stevens but there are no marks anywhere on the outside. This shotgun has won many times in someone else's hands,I'm going to give it a shot soon to see how I do with it.Pics coming.

Got a picture, I have an old Stevens too and I had a heck of a time trying to find info on it. Stevens being tied to Savage made a moel and records check a real challenge.

All I knew for certain is it's older than dirt, built like a tank, always works and I'm getting old enough that its getting to be a challenge holding that long legged beast in the air. Only thing it doesn't like is buck shot because it's a full choke.

Turned out mine is a model 520 with a 30" barrel

After about a hour hunting online I believe mine is a JC Higgins Model 20 made by High Standard before 1962.The butt has been leaded and the trigger is very light.I hope to shoot it soon.

Never had one myself but a lot of them around when I was a lot younger. Most people called them a Sears Roebuck gun because that's where they usually bought it. Can't say as I remember anything bad said about them and most were used pretty rough and then stored underneath the coat rack in the kitchen where it was always handy. If they got cleaned it was because somebody dropped it in the mud and plugged the barrel.

Come to think of it most of our guns came from Coast to Coast Hardware or Sears Roebuck back then. We didn't have no big fancy gun shops or department stores where I lived. Went to town and we had Sears, Monkey Wards and Penny's but only because we were the county seat and the town had the railroad.

Now we have Walmart and K-Mart, somehow just not the same.
